Shocked at all thoses celtic fans?? who are saying they would not back McGee. Jesus we might not all agree but for gods sake i'd back Postman Pat if he was given the job.

 

I know and I said I'll try but he dosn't excite me as a manager but If he gets the job I'm willing to let him prove me wrong!

I've voted Yes, but I think there's a lot of ambiguity about the question.

What does "back him" even mean, in practical terms? It's not as if fans get some kind of veto option.

I think most of the people who have voted No are answering the question "Would he be an acceptable choice to you?" - they are not implying they would go away and support another team, or burn their scarves, or cut up their season tickets.

Personally I have a lot of time for Mark McGhee - he comports himself with a lot of class, he feels a real bond to Celtic, & is imo a good manager. Not my first choice, but nowhere near an obvious disaster.

mchgee has done nothing as a manager to deserve the chance to manage celtic his record as a manager average at best. a club the size of deserve a better than average manager and im sure the board will deliver one im not backin strachans * to get the job

McGhee wouldn't be my choice but if it is then i'd back him. Pointless not to, initially at least.

 

i would back him 100% but he would be my last pick. i think the board would be showing a total lack of ambition if mcghee was appointed . lawell did say we would spend big , win or lose the title. i'm praying for a big name in charge and 3 or 4 really strong players.

has to be a manager who is going to make a few of our average players belive that they are better than they actually are. if we are goin to get in to the champ lg with this squad of players we will need a manager who can get the best out off them as i dont think we will have a big transfer kitty. a manager who the players will go out and give that extra 10 percent for. and i dont think mchgee will be that inspriational manager to achive that. keane,bilic,coyle fo me no doubt

 

i voted no meaning after30years i wont be back or renew my season ticket if mcghee is in charge himself basically it will mean total lack of ambition by the board to take us forward why should i struggle to buy ticket for me and my boy when the keep on going for the cheapest option i will join a lot of people on here as an armchair fan

 

and what if he goes on, wins us the league and gets us into cl...and does well for us? Go back then?

 

Wouldnt be my choice by a long shot but I'd definitely back him. Do we want the club to fail just because we didnt get our 1st choice.

The board have made several approaches and everyone can see how their targets have given the cold shoulder so saying that they've shafted us is completely wrong.

People need to realise that after the treatment of Strachan, the restrictions and limitations of the SPL, the OF Goldfish Bowl and the lure of other and better leagues are outside of the boards control

I wouldnt be happy about it, I dont want him for the job, I know Motherwell fans who want rid, but I am not a Tony Mowbray fan, or an Owen Coyle fan, or a Slaven Bilic fan, I am a Celtic fan, and if they gave the job to the guy up the road from me who drinks 6 bottles of Lambrini a day, I would back him.
