I like him. I'd rather have him than Balde but I certainly wouldn't complain at getting the two.

We always seem to have at least 1 player on loan a season so why not.
Every team needs a Toure in it :smiley-laughing002:

Loan deal? Nah, i don't think it would be a loan deal. Don't even know if they'd sell him to be honest, they play 4-4-2, so they can have 2 strikers up front, but maybe something has happened that's unsettled him, rumors or some *.

I doubt Falcao will be the only big name forward they sign this summer, could be wrong but with the money the now have they will bring in a couple others no doubt.

No dis to the guy, but are we really getting excited about someone who in the last 4 years has played in Iran, UAE and French Div2 ? Is this our benchmark? It isn't just about the goals scored. It's also about @ what level and the opposition.

Ligue 2 is a higher standard than the SPL.

I remember when no one got excited about a certain 33 year-old who played in Slovakia, France and my home nation of Deutschland before he came to Celtic.........

Don't disagree but are we prepared to spend money on guys that can serve us well in SPL or more importantly on those that can take us forward against the better teams in the CL? As for a loanee, Lenny has track record of not having much time for loan players - they spend more time on the bench. For me, invest in those that will be an asset to us in the CL, not the SPL - we have enough to get the title again without much sweat.

Yes. OG spent his playing career in Ligue 2 or the 1, not China, Iran, UAE and 18 months in Ligue 2. As I have said, no dis to the guy. At the moment it's all speculation but for me we need to be looking at players at that age - 28 this year - especially in that position who can do the biz against the best defences in Europe. Sadly his pedigree doesn't tell me that.

Giroud was snapped up by Montpellier (so nearly us) after 18 months of ligue 2 football.
