- Fields of Athenry
Abide with me; fast falls the eventide;
The darkness deepens; Lord with me abide.
When other helpers fail and comforts flee,
Help of the helpless, O abide with me.
Swift to its close ebbs out life's little day;
Earth's joys grow dim; its glories pass away;
Change and decay in all around I see;
O Thou who changest not, abide with me.
I need Thy presence every passing hour.
What but Thy grace can foil the tempter's power?
Who, like Thyself, my guide and stay can be?
Through cloud and sunshine, Lord, abide with me.
Hold Thou Thy cross before my closing eyes;
Shine through the gloom and point me to the skies.
Heaven's morning breaks, and earth's vain shadows flee;
In life, in death, O Lord, abide with me. -

One of my faves would have to be, 'go the mass has ended.."
As a kid i loved that tune cause mass had finally finished and we could go and play fitba!!! And it was a real uplifting tune if ye know what i mean!! -

Now we are talking, what a thread! I led a hymn session in the noodle bar on Sauchiehall Street after the Rangers game in December... Started with hymns then took it down Repiblican lane!:56:i literally stood banging the table to the beat of the songs for an hour and a half!
All the good ones were there, I the Lord of Sea and Sky, Bind us together, Majesty, Henrik Larsson... eh Sing Hosanna, Follow me Follow me... best has to be walk with me oh my lord though, thats the party piece!
