Did they play with the 1st Team or with Reserves to keep them free of injury because of next week´s CL Qualifier?

    Smith concern at ragged Rangers

Rangers manager Walter Smith has demanded his side raise their game quickly after the Glasgow side lost 4-0 to Liverpool in a friendly at Ibrox.
Smith had hoped that they would put up a better show ahead of Tuesday's Champions League qualifier against Kaunas and the Scottish Premier season.

"We have to get up and playing - there is no running away from that - and we must do it very quickly," said Smith.

"We didn't take a lot from the game apart from that we were well-beaten."
But Smith does not believe the comprehensive defeat to Liverpool will dent Rangers' morale ahead of the second leg of the second-round qualifier against the Lithuanians, who held the Scottish side to a draw in Glasgow.

New striker David Ngog opened his account for the English side after Fernando Torres claimed the only goal of the first half.
Yossi Benayoun then found the back of the net before Xabi Alonso completed the rout from the penalty spot.

"I don't think the morale aspect has got anything to do with it, it was a friendly game, and I don't think the morale will be a problem," said Smith.

"The problem is getting back to a level of play that will allow us to compete in a better manner.

"It was evident in the first half hour of the game on Wednesday that we weren't up there. We've got a bit to do to pick up on and we have to do it quickly.

"It's just a fact we have to face that we are not reaching the same level as we did do even in the early part of last season."

    yes until half time.

when it was only 1-0, liverpools reserves won 3-0 in the second half :50:

the highest profile in the team in the 2nd half was Xabi Alonso, there was no torres, keane, gerrard, carragher.

I love it. We have looked bad at times in pre-season as everybody does but a 4-0 humping at home that is brilliant. Who knows maybe Kaunas can knock they out of Europe altogether.
