Does not mean the defence is good tbh.

We have no quality when they are fit.

Well you should be worried if you think Caldwell and McManus are our best pairing!!!

they are not fantastic but they are top players in SPL terms and thats where most of our remaining games will be played this season. I would like better myself and hope we sign at least one really experienced dominant CB. Someone the equivelent of Marc Reiper in Wims team- an expereinced internationalist dominant CB who has played a lot of football in a top league. It could be expensive but its more important than any other signings we could make this month. I have not heard much about CBs in the rumour blogs etc. Thats worrying. I like the CBs in Italy and wonder if we couold poach a CB from the lower levels of Seria A.

Most of our * defensive performances have been in the SPL (other than away in CL) so I don't know where the "top players in SPL" comes from.

    Marc Reiper would do nicely:50:

The defence, not just the CB's has been poor for nearly two seasons.Every combination of CB has been tried at some stage, with varying degrees of success. But the fact remains as Paul67 pointed out,we are leaking goals in the SPL,that seems to suggest that the personnel at present aren't up to standard.

A player in the mould of Reiper would be a godsend, and would undoubtedly enhance our chances of 3 in a row.Somebody of his stature would have a positive influence on our admittedly young group of central defenders.I think we have missed a bit of experience at the back in WGS's time at the club.
