This is taking too long,he's obviously holding out for a bigger club.Hopefully Lenny was telling the truth and we're looking for a replacement regardless of whether Hooper leaves or not, because this could drag on until transfer deadline day.

Will be fantastic to have someone at the club who doesn't want to be here.

Yes. His goals are most welcome. He's been fantastic.

He's never said he does want to leave. He's entitled to consider all his options.

Not in plain black and white, no - but you don't have to be a genius to work it out.

He's BEEN fantastic - time for him to get.

Like I said. He's weighing up all options like he's entitled to. Don't see the problem.

He's done a great job for us and I hope he stays and continues to.

Who say's he's not entitled to look at his options?

It's clear to anyone that he wants out. No point in being pedantic and denying it.

I love gary hes an excellent striker but i think its time he just went all this uncertainty is not good for the club or player and celtic need to move forward if this drags on for weeks and he eventually goes we will be left in a hurry to sign in a player to replace him if infact they replace him because knowing celtic they won't ..his mind is clearly set on a move and that will affect his perfomances for celtic cash in on him now and good luck gary

i hope we dont end up with another hinkel situation, dont want to lose him but obv he wants away so quicker he goes the better.hinkel was in final year of his deal and then got terrible injury that ruled him out for year.we cant afford to lose out on fee for him

I agree to a certain extent, but if he wants to run his contract down but shows the right attitude, and scores the goals that gets us to the group stages then he has earned us that money back, just another way of looking at it :50:

Thats good, is it not? We know he is leaving, therefore we might get a bit more than £5.25 million for him. :bbpd::icon_mrgreen:

Celtic boss Neil Lennon has reiterated he wants in-demand striker Gary Hooper to stay with the Scottish Premier League club.

The forward played 25 minutes against Cliftonville on Tuesday night as Celtic cruised through to the UEFA Champions League third qualifying round with a 5-0 aggregate victory.

Hooper has been linked with Nottingham Forest after previous interest from QPR in the Championship, but Lennon has not given up hope of retaining his services.

Bhoys chief executive Peter Lawwell held discussions with the City Ground outfit earlier in the day to set out their stance on Hooper.

Lennon said: "I spoke to him today and asked him how he was feeling. He said he could do with some game-time, and that's exactly what we did.

"He's not given me any indication either way, so no news is good news on that front. If I've got him here for next week, I'll be delighted.

"It's a better squad with Gary in it. From our point of view we want him to stay, and if we can persuade him to stay we will do everything we can to do that.

"I think Peter was speaking to Nottingham today to tell them that he's not for sale, or if he is for sale they are going to have to come back with a sizeable offer.

"He was excellent tonight and he has been for the last 12 or 13 months now.
