Well I don't want to speak too soon but if things go well then we'll be looking at a return to Champion's League football, or at least qualifiers for it.
As champions, we'd enter into the second round of qualifying. We'd then have the third round as well as the play-off round to navigate. Unlike last season, we wouldn't face a top 4 EPL team, as we'd be going through the league-winner's path, which on paper is easier for us.
Assuming we get through the qualifiers (which I think the current squad can do if on their game), how do you reckon we'll fair in the group stage against the elite? While our squad is rich with talent, there is a degree of inexperience in Europe, especially in the dug out.
I'd like to think the likes of Izzy, Kayal, Commons and Hooper, who have always played well in the big Old Firm games, will rise to the European occasion. While there is inexperience, we do a squad FULL of internationals. That will surely help us.
What do you think?

I think we need to buy a quality CB, maybe 2. Also need a new keeper if Forster isn't staying.

need a cb and a big striker and also a keeper
-
KRS-1888 Scott La Rock
Another reliable striker along with Hooper and Stokes,a CB and a keeper are an absoloute must.
-
Forster is far from Eurpoean material
The only thing to let you guys down is the inexperience. Lennon has very little experience as a manager in European football and also a young squad beneath him who, as you say are rich in talent, but most of them have little or no experience playing against the top teams in Europe.Last edited by a moderator: May 3, 2011 -
i was reading on Rangers Media last night to see the reaction of the POTY awards, and one of them said " so a defender who cant defend won POTY?"
is this a general consesus amung rangers fans that izzy cant defend or is it only this guy whos delusional? -
2 new CBs to be safe and a keeper and I'll be happy. Striker would be nice but not the priority.

Need a replacement for Maj. That's it.

Personally I see him like Allan Hutton was to rangers, average defender but was great at running the ball out of defence and creating chances at the other end of the park. -

I think Maj would do fine.

Honestly, I dont think so but give it time -
not really that big a statement, we knew hutton wasnt a great defender when he was up here and hes shown down there that he isnt great either, obviously great going forward but not defensively, izzy in his time in scotland has been a solid defender, certainly comparing there times in scotland so far izzy has defended better imo
but im fully aware that when he eventually moves he may get found out defensivly, even tho i doubt it -

Not that I would replace any of them mind. -

Along with keeping Hooper, Stokes, Commons, Izzy and Kayal we need a keeper, at least 1 CB and a new striker to replace samaras when we hopefully kick him out in the summer.
