When has he preformed against a big European team? He can score goals yes but he offers nothing else we need to keep the ball and pass and Prees none of that is in Commons game we will be a lot harder to tire with 9 men doing there jobs then 8 men Guddetti uo front and Commons on as sub when where going for it

Commons is a goal threat and an all round danger man, some players like this you let other men do a bit of running for them, In saying that Commons high pressing this season has been excellent bettered only by Johannson.

So in general you are looking for workers instead of footballers? Im not having a go or anything, im just trying to find out why you would not play our best player.

A player that has not scored for 6/7 games....we cant even afford one luxury in the side.

If we want a goal put commons on for most of the game,he was more dangerous than all our strikers in his last game and was unlucky.

Workers more so at the start I know Commons is are most likely source of goals but I can just see him being to slow and * up counter attack after counter attach ( don't get me wrong I'd be delighted from to prove me wrong and make me eat my words ) Inter's best part are there midfield and we can't afford passenger even if Commons gets back to track he's useless deep so we would need to keep up the pitch maybe if we got an intelligent player like Fletcher to play with brown and track runs and close down space we could use Commons from the start but we don't have that type of player think we should just leave him for when we need a goal at the end

Id have him on the right in the bank of 3 cutting inside and creating space for matthews on the overlap

I'd probably play Matthews on the right wing if he hits some form definitely need Lustig but if Ronny picks Mcgorger before Commons I'll lose total faith in him :smiley-laughing002: hopefully forrest is fit to the amount of options we have for the wings is really a joke

I forgot about Lustig, even better. McGregor would be more of a worker than Commons though

I'd line up if everybody is fit:

    Gordon

    Lustig Denayer Van Dijk Izzy

    Brown Mulgrew Johansen

    Forrest_______________Stokes

    Guidetti

With Common coming on for Forrest and Johansen pushing a wee bit further up the pitch if Forrest isn't doing it and we're wanting a goal.

Full thing needs to count on players being able to get close to Guidetti though.

    451 for me
    Gordon
    lustig denayer van dijk izzy
    Matthews brown bitton johansen mulgrew
    guidetti

Imo with the squad we have at the minute that's the team I would play away from home in Europe, wouldnt normally want mulgrew out wide but he done a job there a good few times for Neil Lennon, would give izzy some protection

I'd go with that exact team aswell. Decent balance to it and should be difficult to break down.

We can play 4-2-3-1 but as long as when we dont have the ball, which will be often every * does their defending. We need to play this cautiously and try and still be in the tie going into the second leg. Sure, if they play to their potential they will win but ffs we have to be positive. If we are well organised and work like * then who knows. Strangerthings have happened

The defence and midfield need to have some understanding between them which is non existent thus far, we were far better organised under lennon in europe at home (juventus game aside) we will need to be really combative when were not in possession. We need pace and plenty of on the wings and we need plenty of service into guidetto who will likely be the lone striker. No idea on a line up this far but with everyone fit i think something like

    Gordon
    Lustig VVD Efe Izzy
    Biton Brown
    Forrest Johansen Commons
    Guidetti
