Agreed, if you somehow manage to keep xavi quiet, then your part of the way to keeping messi quiet. The only thing is, these two guys are amongst the best players to have ever graced the game When xavi is at his best he probably has a possession swing of about 15-20% which for a single guy is * crazy.

The craziest thing I can remember was a Real Sociedad game were Barcelona had 54% up until the 60th minute mark when Xavi came on. The game finished with 73% possesion to Barca.

    That's insane.

We cant really. I'm just gonna go to the game and enjoy the amazing football that will be on the pitch.

In all honesty I think the key is not to handle him really. He is going to do what he is going to do and better teams than us have tried to shackle him and failed.

I would like us to just concentrate on our own game, keep it high tempo and don't give any of their players a minutes peace.

What we can't do is stand off them or try and defend for 90 minutes.

I'd rather get beat 4-2 having a go than 4-0 sitting back and hoping for the best.

Broony, Wanyama and Kayal not leaving his side. That's Messi sorted, now Xavi, Iniesta, Fabregas, Sanchez and Pedro.....

Chelsea have kept him realitvely quiet on nearly every occassion they've played each other.

What was the score though? Didn't watch the game but were Sociedad not trying to hold onto a win/draw so sat back and allowed Barca possession?

Sign Big Bobo on a 1 game contract and get him to snap him in 8 early on.

Ended up 3-1 (I think) was 1-1 when Xavi came on and almost immediately started the play for the goal...

Just went on from there. I've neer seen a player effect a game like that in my life.

    Correct.

The question is not how do we handle Messi, but how will they handle Wanyama.

We play barcelona, not messi. Even if we do manage to keep him quiet there is still xavi, iniesta, villa, pedro, fabregas......
