For anyone looking for a modern sounding rap album, check out Metro Boomin, 21 Savage, Offset - WITHOUT WARNING

The beats hit insanely hard, sound scary, scary atmosphere with 21 savage having the perfect voice for those beats same with offset and his style. Metro boomin is the producer, he’s prob the most modern producer right now and he’s incredible there’s no denying that

I listen to more than just 80’s and 90’s Hip Hop,and I enjoy a lot of the current stuff, but don’t try and pretend that inferior * like Young Thug or 21 Savage compares to the old school. It’s like telling me that half of the players on the books now would get into MON’s team. You’re allowed to be wrong but don’t tell lies.Boom Bap sounds * now? No chance, class is permanent.

No comparison when it comes to the artistry. Rappers nowadays take alot of drugs that I don't know about, that's maybe why their lyrics and flow sound lacklustre or mundane. Show them Nas and it wouldnt resonate tbh. Kids grow up on whats around them, in my school it was popular to be into UK garage or early grime. So solid were popular but for me, I could tell that they didn't have it, the pure essence of hiphop that i heard from Nas etc.

Metro Boomin is a good producer but the rappers he works with are terrible.
There’s a whole world of good rap out there outwith the * mumble rap pish that’s popular these days.

    Griselda
    Joey badass
    Black Thought
    Tha * Fahim
    Mach Hommy
    Your old Droog
    Freddie Gibbs
    Willie the kid
    Jay Royale
    Flee Lord
    RJ Payne
    Stove * cooks
    38 spesh
    Rome streetz

just a few newer boom bap artists I listen to as well as the older stuff like Wu tang (Raekwon, GFK, GZA), Mobb Deep etc. Nas’s recent album run with Hitboy has some standouts as well.

Once you get into them there’s loads of other good rappers who are affiliated with them you can check through features etc. They also work with some of the best producers, The Alchemist, Conductor Williams etc.
