Just wondering everyone elses thoughts on whether Hinkel will be here after the summer. It is no secret he is looking to get back in the German squad and he doesnt get noticed a lot when playing in scotland.
In the game yesterday it was just night and day when comparing hinkel to wilson, a class apart. Just wondering with a likely miss of champs league money if the board will look to balance the books with selling 1 or two, a few have been thinking Boruc and McGeady but Hinkel could also be one otherwise why would mowbray have kept him on the bench?
I know if we did sell him for 3/4 max tht we would get for him it would cost the same amount to get someone of equal quality into that position.
What do you guys think?

i think he will stay but if he were to leave i would be looking for far more than we paid for him
-
If he wanted noticed by the German National team he would have gone by now considering its World Cup year ,im sure there would be a host of teams wanting him but he is here .
-
a think hinkel will leave at the end of the season but dont think we will get alot of money on him. he played well today :D

IMO, Hinkel has been our POTY, by a country mile. Really hope that the German team management have been keeping an eye on him, because his efforts deserve attention. Defensively, Wilson is an OK deputy, but Hinkel's overall ability really is a class above. Really hope he is not sold off, as he is the one of the few WGS's signings that has been an absolute success. Best FB we have had since Jackie McNamara & Tommy Boyd.

a agree but players will get fed up m8 when they canny won silverware so lets hope neil lennon can bring us the scottish cup and a good career at celtic
-
The difference when he came back in today was noticeable.
Very solid player, very consistant and provides support going forward.
Ideally, we tie him down but if a big bid comes in we dont have much choice. -

He has the most assist in the team doesn;t he?
-
i rate him very highly and hope he stays, seems to like it here and has been learning about the history and that, he was talking about the celtic history dvd in an interview for C67
-
I certainly hope he sticks around, but when a new manager is coming in, all bets are off, really.
-
aye but this new manager might be neil lennon so he will stay if its lennon

poty, no questions asked
-
Think he is excellent. Even through a tough period he just plods on as normal.
I think we'll struggle to keep him next season and Caddis isn't the answer. -

You know what? Everytime Hinkel appears in an article or is interviewed, my esteem for him just rises and rises. He just seems very thoughtful, even in his comments, not just about the departure of TM, but the nature of football here in Scotland & Lenny's approach over the past few days.
Mowbray was maybe too nice, too honest, says Andreas Hinkel - Herald Scotland | Sport | SPL | Celtic -
Hinkel i have a lot of time for ,he is a good honest pro who just dusts himself down and gets on with it ,he is my player of the year for Celtic because he never lets the head go down and his attacking play is excellent ,i would like to think that he would stay with Celtic for another year or two .

For me Hinkel is the best right back I can remember at the club, I would be gutted if he were to leave. :54:

I hope he's still here next season however if a bid comes in from a decent German club I think he'll be off.
Agree with others that Caddis is not the answer.
