Well havnt we come to rue not replacing a proven goalscorer with another..
Miku, Lassad, Pukki, Balde.. how many mediocre strikers do we need to go throught before we go for a proven one? i think out of all of those previous examples, Miku was the only decent effort because at least he has scored more than 15 in a season!
Its shocking that we havnt reinvested the money that we got for hooper, wanyama, Ki etc.. That was a toothless champions league campaign this year and we have regressed as a team from last season.
Btw just seen on sky sports that a player who we were heavily linked with Mitroglou of Olympiakos is being touted for a move to a big european club due to his glowing perfromances for them.
Its just not good enough and the board have to take responsibility for it as the summer transfer window was a disgrace. People in the paper blaming John Park- its not his fault at all.
Just one more thing to vent.. Why are so many people attacking Fraser Forster after all he has done for us so far? One bad performance doesnt make you a bad player.
Frustrated.

Biton, Rogic, Pukki, Boerrigter, Van Dijk, Balde and Mouyokolo are exactly the same type of signings as Ki, Hooper, Wanyama and Wilson.

Its not even hindsight, most fans knew when hooper left we needed a striker and were shouting for one all window.
If you believe some reports the board did try but due to knock backs and cost structure in the club we end up getting 2nd or 3rd or even 4th choice striker. -

Miku wasn't that bad a signing - he came with a reputation and good stats.
It just never worked out for him here. -

Fast forward 12 months and we are in the last 16 of champs league. Fast forward another 12 months and we where talking about how to get into the last 8.....
Fans are bored of buying the ''projects'' we want the ready made players that can just slot in and perform. The problem is the money to acheive that is £5+ mil per player, with the occasional bargain/youngster.
For celtic to get to the next stage we need investment and it just cant happen in the current set up, so we are stuck in this hugely infuriating position of not so poor we are living off scraps (buying utter *) but not rich enough to be where we want/need to be.Last edited by a moderator: Nov 28, 2013 -

The transfer window was pretty underwhelming. I was happy with Virgil and Derk but I didn't really have a good feeling about Pukki or Balde tbh. I was one of the guys craving Finnbogason so that's probably why.
Biton arrived with promise so I was fairly happy with that acquisition, but I wanted a like-for-like replacement for Wanyama when he left, we are weak as * in the middle. The 2 main things I wanted was a lethal striker and a creative midfielder. I know we missed out on a few of our main targets in the former department, but I was a little concerned that none of the management noticed the lack of creativity within the team. It was the same for most of last season. Commons doesn't provide it in Europe and I KNEW Lennon wouldn't try McGeouch or Rogic there. -

We really needed a £4/5 million player with proper quality, but we didn't spend it. Surprisingly enough. -
