Very likely his only remit I guess, but it does leave guys like Inamura and even Shin, Kenny etc in a limbo situation.
What we need, instead of a Pathway manager, is a Loan manager working under a DoF who all sing from the same hymn sheet

Doubt Inamura (or Shin) will get a decent amount of minutes unless an injury crisis forced it this season, Rodgers has made his point about club signings and worry he genuinely has a big enough ego he'll just not play them and risk being proved 'wrong' if he can avoid it.

    "Club signings"

So he doesn't want us to be a modern club with scouts and stuff? Just wants whoever he knows from England?

One thing I dont agree with tbh. Yes wanting top quality, that fine. Top quality only he spots? * help us.

We need to give him a chance, he looks far too good to simply discard - he’s not a Yang or a Kwon or an Ideguchi or a Koboyashi. He has genuine talent like an Iwata, who coincidentally also didn’t get a fair crack of the whip.

He’s done nothing wrong in the games he’s played so far, in fact quite the opposite. To be shunted so far out the picture by producing promising displays is mental, even if he can’t defend for toffee in training.

I heard he's been learning Japanese on Duolingo so I doubt it.

Pretty sure its "not my problem", "are you from the EPL?", and "I'll do the minimum" he's learned so far.

This keeps getting repeated again and again and again with little basis.

Do people genuinely believe our manager is out to spike players careers over a petty power battle with the board? Do you genuinely believe that?

Maybe it could be the fact he simply does not rate them? Maybe he's right not to rate them, maybe he's wrong but that's his job and he will fail or succeed on the decisions he made.

Shin is currently close to 30 games without a goal for all his most recent games, club and country. He is off the back of a very poor season in Japan. He got a call up to what as essentially a Japanese thirds team over the summer and got about 10 minutes off the bench over 3 games. He is about 10th on the list of Japanese strikers now.

Inamura has one season of senior football in Japan effectively which he played for a relegation battling side. It's clear that he is not at all rated in his country as most Japanese football journalists and commentators were very surprised we were in for him. He primarily played as a centre back there so isn't overly accustomed as a left back though it's probably likely his best chance of making it here.

Both of them have arrived in a new country with a completely different style of game. Both of them have done ok so far but that would be the height of it for me. They will get opportunities and if they take them the manager is going to give them more.

This nonsense that keeps being repeated on here about Rodgers ego being the reason they're not playing. We are not talking about Gvardiol and Haaland here - we are talking about 2 completely unheralded players plucked from the J League who most commentators and journalists who follow Japanese football were surprised we pursued.

I hope they make it and both have shown certain qualities to date in their brief cameos but I don't really get why people are expecting them to be so heavily involved when we have more established and reputable options. It's going to take time, patience and hard work for these guys to earn Rodgers trust and that is understandable.

I keep pointing on to Scales and Christie being 2 players that Rodgers didn't rate at first but who took their chance and became mainstays under him. Does that strike of a manager whose ego and stubbornness gets in the way of giving people a chance?

Also there were plenty of people last year and in pre season crying out for Nawrocki to get a go and that Rodgers had an agenda against him. He can't even get Bundesliga II minutes right now. Maybe Rodgers was right on him? Maybe he is right on Inamura and Shin.

what about osmand and pusey ,pretty sure they were both in the top 3 players in the premier league2 ,now i dont know the standard but i would guess there are some good young players in the english system and they can even get on the bench.think its clear as day that rodgers has thrown the toys out of the pram . shin or osmand would have been much better options than that useless * yang in the c.l. qualifiers but rodgers was making a point

Osmand can't even get a Wales U21 cap or squad call up.

Simpson Pusey is a loan signing so why would we develop him over Murray?

People are questioning it because they've shown up well when they have been given the chance to play.

Russell Martin is getting roasted (and rightly so) for saying his team show up better in training, but they then go on to play * in a game. Yet we have people trying to convince us our own opinions, based on games we've watched, are invalid because Rodgers sees them in training. Make it make sense.

Also the difference in your Christie and Scales examples; they were already at the club, not brought in on his watch, allegedly against his will.

Have they shown up though? Every game is must win right now. Shin has had 5 appearances, a few bright ones and a few average ones. Inamura did well in his only start but it was at home to Livi.

I don't see why there is such a clamour for them to be playing. We know very little about them and their track record is hardly reassuring.
