Gonna bite Rodgers on the * this outcasting Inamura. We’re short on numbers as it is. He’s played CB-LB and no doubt could play right back if really really necessary.

what is the issue in giving KT a rest this weekend. As Ardis says above… what’s the point of playing him pre-season at all if Rodgers never intended on using him.

Doesn’t even remember who he played! Might be best watching his highlights on here!

Full backs on the opposite side is the worst. Hate it

I couldn't agree more, you can't tell me that he isn't good enough right now to play against Falkirk etc to give KT a rest, we know KT's injury history and so far he's started every game if I remember correctly. This just comes down to posturing from Rodgers, he's making sure the board know that whilst they sign the players (when they can be arsed) he picks the team and this lad is paying the price....a bunch of egotistical fuckwits at the helm.

Said it in one of his last preseason games but I genuinely think he may have won more headed duels during preseason than Taylor did in his Celtic career :giggle1: I didn't see the glaring defensive issues in those games but will defer to BR who has seen him much more than any of us, but Scales gets burned by any winger with any pace when he plays left back so it doesn't matter that he's a better defender than Inamura if he can't get near enough to his man to defend.

Rather than Rodgers being spiteful or sending a message to the board or anything like, maybe Inamura just plays like a guy that cost 250k from one of the worse defences in the J league?

If no J league team saw much in him, no Asian scouts saw anything in him, maybe Rodgers sees nothing in him to suggest he should be near the celtic first team.

I know that sounds very negative, but it feels like a more likely answer than anything to do with Rodgers being wrong.

Mitch Frame played last week in the B team - why not give him a game?

Exactly, why not? Was good enough to play in a CL game, did well, then disapeared ?????

No and I appreciate he looked good preseason from a few people on here but I didnt see him.

Im not writing the guy off (well I am kind of a bit), more when you bring in a guy at that level and Rodgers isnt impressed, it isnt surprising. And its more likely he just isnt very good than some sort of machiavellian tactics or ego from Rodgers.

It always sound incredibly harsh to be negative about a player you havent seen but it already feels like he will end up in the Tilio/Kwon mould of a loan deal then punted. I just dont understand the signing at all. And seemingly nor does Rodgers.

Why are we puting faith in the guy rather than a youngster like Frame? Feels like blind hope

He didn't tho. If you watched the pre season games he was very good. Rodgers was even talking him up, so this recent development from him is a bit strange.

Tbf it sounds as though Rodger's was very impressed by his first two appearances. The problem for Inamura is Rodger's thinks his first two games were against Queens Park and Cork when his first two appearances were actually against Cork and Newcastle.

So aye, we have a 4th striker in our CL squad instead of a back up LB because presumably Inamura made Newcastle look like Queen's Park.

Just catching up on Rodgers' comments now. Mental to be honest, so out of order and disrespectful. Guy's come halfway across the world and done everything he can to make a positive impression (which he has) and is just getting disregarded and frankly disrespected in public, in such a way that even undercuts his own performances.

Really, really poor from the manager.

Wasn’t a few people on here bud. Every single fan that watched pre-season saw Inamura had ability. Whether it’s pre-season or not when you’re playing against the players he was it shows he has ability.

Rodgers says he played Queen’s Park when he never! Haha it’s all very strange.

and I’d begin to agree with you on it not being out of spite. However look at the absolute love in he had for Taylor and how he spoke about the fans for singing Tierneys name! He is obviously very very angry the board haven’t replaced Taylor as in his eyes it should have been KT-Taylor in rotation.

Inamura is in no way like tilio or Kwon. Not in a rude way mate but if you’d watched him in pre season you wouldn’t be saying this at all.

all players equally deserve their chances you’re right. Rodgers also * frame off after playing him in the CL to never be seen again.

I wouldn’t be suggesting Inamura plays if we didn’t have KT on the absolute edge of an injury every time he passes 60 minutes. And Liam scales being moved out to left back!! Haha Inamura without doubt has the ability to play Livingston.

This is why I believe it’s a point he’s trying to make to the club that he needs a left back in. If we sign a Left back on a transfer fee then fair enough…but if it’s a loan I’ll be * off Inamura isn’t getting his chance.

his comment about lamal is * ridiculous too. Even Tierney would get pulled to bits by him :giggle1:

He should play tomorrow from my perspective as we need attacking intent and we need Tierney on Tuesday. Scales left back to start is a disaster.

His passing in pre-season was good. He didn't really have to do much defending, and he's built like the gable end of a fiver.

Pre season means hee haw in the grand scheme of things.

He did look better than I think any of us expected. But I'm sure Rodgers has his reasons.

I agree in some sense, but surely pre season is there to see if players are capable before the competitive games start.

we all saw which youths and first team squaders (tilio etc.) weren’t ever gonna make it with us. Yet the weird thing here is Inamura looked one of, if not the best in pre season. Yet has been bombed so far out of it since. Got to be something more to it as there’s no logical explanation at all to it when you take into context KT and no back up/rest

Said he's not at first team standard defending-wise and that a loan would be an option for him.

Rodgers has seen him up close for over a month now and wouldn't cut his nose off to spite his face.

If, after a month of watching him every day in training he doesn't think he's up to it defensively then I'd take his word for it.

For all we know he's getting the absolute * taking out of him in training by Tillio
