He never * played Queen’s Park. Brendan is at it with this. The comment about playing lamine yamal too…none of our team are good enough to play him :56: what a load of *.

Cork, Newcastle, Ajax and Al-Ahli he played and didn’t once look out of his depth. If anything he was our best player in pre-season.

this one has * me off. Rodgers wants the board to sign Taylor’s replacement and he won’t take no for an answer here.

Inamura looks completely capable of being KT’s backup

Trying to say a Celtic full back isn’t good enough defensively before deciding he wouldn’t trust him against yamal is some statement. I’d not want to see what Yamal would do to scales if we were to find ourselves in the situation.

if he was that inexperienced he'd have been better getting loaned back to the club he came from

I don't understand a lot of these project signings tbh Scottish football is not of a high standard it is one of the poorest leagues in Europe.

If a player that's reasonably highly rated cant come from the Japanese premier league or other big country's premier leagues and be back up playing 10 to 20 games a season for Celtic who have won 13 titles in 14 years then then why are we even signing them

Tbf this is based on 4 pre season games.

I think he could have appeared in the first 3 domestic games, but I don't think it's as simple as him being ready to play 30 odd games this season.

He looks decent but wasn't tested defensively and remember he was fully fit whilst every player around him and on the opposition team wasn't.

I'm not really getting the clamour for him to be back up. I'd still rather bring someone else in and give him a loan. He's only about 6 months out of university football. That's a huge ask.

I mean it is a wee bit harsh.

The * that played left back for the past 5 years couldn't defend either

The other thing I'm a bit wary of here is that the Japanese are very honour-based. We've had good dealings with them for a few years now, but if we're to be seen belittling players and mistreating them when they come over, we'll lose all respect with clubs, agents and their supporter base very quickly.

Pistol Pete and crew won't like that.

I dont see a issue with this. The defensive side of his game was seen as a weakness even in the Japanese media before he signed. The player is seen to have the potential but needs some work. Hopefully he works hard and gets chances.

If we get someone in that’s any good at left back then I’ll view it differently. But you just know it’s gonna be some * stop gap - jonjoe Kenny/jeremy toljan type loan on deadline day or the last week of the window.

I could be fit as * playing Newcastle players after they’ve had 20 pints and they’d still run rings round me. Don’t think the fitness argument is right when in the context of Inamura. If anything that just shows the irony of Rodgers words more so. So weird he didn’t even know who he played against either. So belittling, and I’ve never ever heard him do that about any player.

If we had a manager willing to modernise we would play them. Dont think Brendan wants to let the new systems of data and analytics sign him players.

he doesn’t even like bringing youngsters through until they’ve passed 21. He’s said this a few times. Yet clubs across the world play players from 16,17,18 when they’re good enough.

he can be so backwards and stubborn at times.

Remember when Brendan told us off for singing the name of a left back we knew was joining us. When his beloved son Greg wouldn’t sign on.

reeks of Rodgers being spiteful of the board not securing Taylor onto a longer deal

You don't see an issue with our manager taking decisions based on games a player didn't even play in?

Brendan just doesn't like him and wants another LB in. But he can't admit it so he spreads lies like Inamura played against Queens Park :giggle1:

Rodgers is a good coach but he has some major ego issues and is actively sabotaging the club like the board does because of his ego when playing worse players than he has to or because they're his favourits.

Imagine your boss taking decisions on you based on projects you didn't even took part in :giggle1: You'd be furious and rightly so.

Think it was always going to be highly unlikely that this lad who has only 1 full season of pro football under his belt (as a CB) would be able to come in and deputize for KT at LB given KTs fitness.

Maybe Rodgers is making something of point with it as its clearly not a signing that he was the slight bit interested in. But we were always going to need another LB in as cover. Couldn't risk this fella being KTs back up even if he looked ok in preseason.

I just find all of this a bit odd to be honest. What is the point in playing well in pre season and then not even get a sniff in the first few games? How often realistically is he going to be that under pressure domestically to defend? It's not like Greg * Taylor was an expert at one on one duels ffs :56:
He was really positive on the ball. Fizzed it in to people's feet didn't mess about taking 3 or 4 touches. Seemed to have a decent understanding with Reo and Daizen.
I'm not saying he's prime Roberto Carlos but he looked good enough to have 30 mins here and there in the league.
