I would actually like to see how he gets on up front with someone like Balde.

I will judge him once he has played up with Balde a few times which I thought the plan was going to be when we bought they two. I think it'll work, the hard work and dirt stuff pukki will do for the big man up front to put in the net.

    I'm not picky.
I'll give him till the end of the season till I pass judgement on what I think. Not looking promising to be honest as I haven't seen anything from him that has really impressed me, but he maybe just needs more time to bed himself in. As we all know, some players need more time than others to settle.

Look at the turnaround we had with Wilson. And Samaras too. Hopefully he'll come good from next season onwards.

I think that when he was bought in the idea was balde and himself as the long term vision. Balde to replace hooper and pukki to replace stokes (whose contract was up at the time and wasn't looking like signing). I think stokes extending contract made his position ropey, as lennon doesn't wanna drop stokes and play pukki all the time (tine which he needs to gel properly). For this reason, more tine, alobg with a clinical finisher and I think pukki will shine

I don't think he'll ever be prolific and for that some will never take to him.

He is a grafter though and technically very good, a 'flop' he most certainly isn't. We'd be able to sell him on for as much as we paid for him.

don't forget Mulgrew too, there was probably a point that every fan wanted him away from the team now look at him, I guess we are spoiled by our history and alot of the fans are having withdrawal symptoms with Stooper being broken up and had to much faith in Pukki's arrival

I think he's a good player. The reason he isn't scoring is because of the way our opposition play. Because defences are playing so deep against us, our strikers are having to come short because they can't get behind the defence. Our midfielders are scoring all of our goals because they are allowed to run at the defence and play one-twos with strikers, or find space in front of the defence and score from distance. Also, he's not going to score headers for obvious reasons, but hopefully Fridjonsson can.

If he doesn't get at least 10 goals in the league alone from now to the end of the season then he will be a flop in my eyes. We sold Gary Hooper and brought this guy and Balde in as replacement. Obviously Lennon thought he was going to score goals.

I know this isn't the Stokes thread but he hasn't been much better than Pukki.

No, give him until the end of the season. He has ability, just needs to be playing in the right system with the right striking partner, which isn't Stokes.

I voted yes, under the assumption that he was supposed to be replacing Hooper.
If he's Hooper's replacement, he isn't the right type of player to fill that role. If he isn't Hooper's replacement, I don't understand why Lennon bought him.

Any striker who calls himself a professional and can't score at least 10 goals a season in the SPL should hang his head in shame and hang his boots up forever.

With all due respect mate, this thread is ridiculous.

Lennon's tactics are failing our strikers.

He could be good for us, we need to adapt to him and he to us. Gary Hooper he sure aint, but he looks like he could have the makings of a false 9 if we play that way...

Don't think he'll make it here, certainly not as a 20-goals-a-season striker.

As a striker, Pukki is a flop.

Feel sorry for the lad because its not his natural position, he would be better in a Kris Commons type role.

He was the wrong signing for us given what we needed.

And Balde must be really bad in training given that we are half way through the season and he still can`t get a look in.

I would rather we persevered with Lassad than have this situation.

Eveyone seems to want to give him the most time a striker has had in years do adapt. What about Bangura, Brozek, Miku, Lassad etc - all are considered flop players (not by me) but some of them played even less games then Pukki who has been absolute garbage.
