No Sure about his age but his better days are behind him. We need to stop this Big name players coming to our great club when they are finishing their career for an easy life, so they think.

maybe if he can stay clear of injuries he would be a good asset, but too much of a risk to try and buy him

Too injury prone for scotland. He'll get lumps kicked out of him and he'll be in the stands for ever. Great player when he plays but he but he hardly ever does.

A source close to Kewell told the Belfast Telegraph last night: "It's a done deal — Harry will be on his way to Celtic.
"They are going to offer him £40,000 and I believe that will make him Celtic's biggest earner.
"But for Harry it's not all about money — he simply wants to play football on a regular basis again."

Harry Kewell was born 22 September 1978 which makes him 29 right now. But he has had tons of injury problems and isn't the same player we knew at leeds. For me would be a resounding no. He does have experience but dom we need another injury prone player in our ranks?

A Couple? We better start building our own hospital in aid of this guy. But lets no panic just yet. Could be just rougue agents at work here trying to push his price up and also get interest from other clubs.

If we sign him, I'd be willing to give him a chance. He has to pass a medical before anything. I'm sure Strach has already had his fingers burnt with the Gravesen episode, so I doubt he'd throw money away on the guy, unless he's proven fit. On the other hand, I hear Kewell is like Beckham in Oz. Could be an attempt to corner the Australian market. The Parkhead Commercial Wagon (TM) is slipping into first gear, ready for the new season....

I think in the Australian market were ok there having had Viduka in the past and now McDonald starting to how he is a class act.

This 1 is starting to really excite me i must admit, from talking to a few friends i have in Liverpool, it's a myth that he's lost it. He's struggled with injuries but recently he's shown in fits and starts that he's still got it. The only problem i'd foresee would be if you gave him 40k a week without question, that would be stupid and tbh i doubt it would happen.

Put him in line with the top earners but make it a pay as you play or some other sort of stipulation which means he wouldn't be earning fortunes lying on the treatment table and i think we'd have ourselves a player.

Kewell is the biggest thing in football here in Aus(cahill a distant 2nd). So one good thing (for me at least) is Celtic will get more media coverage here. If he can stay fit It would be a fantastic signing. If not it will be a horrible waste of dosh.

This was on sky sports news aswell. Dont think we need him, especially if hes gunna be injured. But if we get him, he deserves a chance at least..

I really rate our board and think we got a very reasonable and intelligent one. that's why I come to the conclusion the post above is absurd.

I get what you mean, but Kewell is on a different level to Skippy and the deserter over there. McDonald isn't even that well known. I think he's only just beginning to make the national squad. Viduka was only with us for one season and is more closely associated with the teams he played for down south. Kewell shifts merchandise. I think the only player coming close to him is Cahill and I'm pretty sure that's a distant second.

Am sure if he does sign for 40k a week, peter lawwell will have it in his contract that he only gets the full amount if he plays and stays clear of injuries.

i think if he is free you have nothing to lose,he would only be takeing balde or gravesens wage and would probley offer more to the team than those 2.i think it would be a good move if he could recapture his leeds days.
