My take on this Suarez isn't accused of being a racist; he's accused of making a racial remark. Big difference hence why he was banned.

8 match ban to be proved a racist in an enviorment when your ment to be seen as a role model to others and get paid vasts amount of money every week.

if it were down to me the minimum he would get is a season ban , if not an indefinite one.

no place for racisim, especialy at a level football is at.

Lol didnt know that must come from a well of family. So suarez obviously did do it then and as another poster said he admitted it . Well atleast he has held his hands up and is taking the punishment. We all say stupid stuff in the heat of the moment ive said stuff in the heat of the moment about english but i dont actualy mean the stuff i say . Maybe suarez shud make a big donation to a charity for sick african kids. As an apologetic gesture

Idiot, now who's going to be my fantasy team captain?

Stupid thing to say, although obviously 'negrito' has different connotation in South America. He's still a moron, I really like him as a player, but what a * of a man. Biting and diving is only topped by that handball vs Ghana.

Will be interesting to see what John Terry gets, if found guilty.

It'll be very interesting. My money's on him getting off scot free.

Either way, you could put the house on him not getting an eight-game ban like his mixed-race hispanic counterpart.

There's a very perceptive article on the Suarez judgement by Tim Vickery on the BBC website. Vickery's got a real in-depth understanding of the South American game, having lived out there the best part of 20 years. And he expresses very eloquently what I'm thinking. About how the word "negro" means something completely different in Suarez' culture and language (in which he was speaking at the time) - and about how this decision has got far more to do with the English pursuing their holier-than-thou vendetta against Sepp Blatter, than it does about actual racism.

In fact he practically gets down to the line I used a while back to describe the English attitude to racism - "It's not us that's racist - it's johnny foreigner."

    Great read:

No chance the same will happen Terry. They would be afraid he would turn around and do what that * Shearer did when he kicked Lenny in the head and threaten not to play for England. The FA dont have the balls to do it to their captain the year of a tournament.

I know a lot of clubs have their share of idiotic fans, but I despise Liverpool fans, sanctimonious *, they can take their fields of anfield road and shove them where the sun don't shine.

I'm looking forward to seeing what punishment goes his way. It should certainly not be anything less.

Absolutely incredible that without evidence they can find him guilty. They have taken that * evra's word for it. Typical bs from the fa.

And let's face it, Evra does have previous for unfounded allegations of racist behaviour.
