Offer the million plus Hendry and see what happens, if not, we move on.

 

Shouldn't necessarily be about price, if he's good enough and his heart's in it then you do the deal regardless. It's sort of how you fall into the trap of thinking like the board. Saving money when it's just purely on footballing ability because he looks and sounds like an easy one to bed into the group. He's not gonna dominate in the air, but he's got pace and it's whether you can marry that up with end product.
I honestly can't see any harm in it.
If you wanted to look around for alternatives you could by all means take a punt on a left back for 100k if you go down a division. Every team in the SPFL is really gonna push the price up now which is a shame. We know the powers that be. Don't sell to Celtic. Aberdeen knock back £5million for McKenna. Hibs knock back £2.5million for McGinn. Motherwell knock back £2million for Turnbull. Turnbull knocked back Norwich after they tried to get him out the league.

Now here's the things people forget. We're signing players and shifting them onto top six/mid-table Prem teams/top three teams in France and Belgium.

Aberdeen, Motherwell and Hibs are not.

There job is yes to make as much money, but also to keep the players in the league as surely that makes the league better. Most teams will never know football outside domestic football.
In effect it makes the league poorer selling these players down south.

Tierney you can say, well what was the Scottish transfer record for a Scottish player from the SPL? Aiden McGeady? That's more than doubled.

When players go for a similar price to what Celtic will play, clubs have falsely bought into this notion of "not wanting to come up against them in the league"
which would make sense if they had previous for winning league titles, but unfortunately they don't. So it should not really matter a jot if they lose to Celtic and Turnbull scores the winner. Take Turnbull out Celtic probably still win.

As it stands if they want to sell to the Championship, over their own league, they aren't helping the league as a spectacle.

Honestly...I wouldn’t mind them both as back ups. Would prefer O’Donnell over Ralston! Get him out on loan and see how he gets on.
