Gawd most people believed we were out and being honest we were up against it and it was a tremendous effort by the team to win against all the odds so I wouldnt get bent out of shape about that . Remember that a journalists job is to prompt debate and thats what he is good at and its not going to be what you want to hear all the time .

For the record, Hugh Keevins is a diehard Celtic fan and was one of Fergus McCanns biggest backers during all the 'Sack The Board' carry on in the early 90's.

He's just a journalist doing his job, and has managed to boost his career in the last few years playing the classic pantomime baddie.

Bingo. And everyone in this thread -- as much as they hate him -- are only lining his pockets more.
It's kind of funny actually. When you get down to it, we're not much different than monkeys in the zoo throwing * at eachother.

The voice of reason....some of the comments in here are ignorance personified.

Like the man said, back in the 90's when our club was minutes from receivership, Keevins was one of the main voices backing Fergus' takeover. The man has Celtic in his blood and has never denied the fact. Unfortunately his employers dictate that he helps sell newspapers, which he does as he antagonises people with articles which, if if truth be told are comical at best.

Strip away the bullshit people and look at the bigger picture....and DO NOT buy red top rags!

I met him after the takeover in 1994 and he was so * happy it was unbelieveable.

That will always be my lingering memory of the guy.

It actually pains me a wee bit to see the way he's perceived now but like you say, he's at the mercy of his employers.

Exactly, his articles are aimed at getting the "papers" sold and getting reactions - this very thread shows it's working.
