To be honest it was * all to do with the hes not a celtic man,I actually thought he would be a good manager for us if you look at it in trophy's & champions league he was. i just couldnt handle paying £550 a season to watch the utter * his teams played.

Strachan delivered us unparalled success in recent times. Two 1-0 victories in our last two games under WGS would have gave us 4IAR, but Big Jan, McDonald and Samaras couldn't hit a coo on the * with a banjo by that time.

If only we had signed Stephen Fletcher.

I for one have great love & respect for WGS !!!!!!!!!!!!:50:
Was good for us & had a great record as the Celtic manager.
He was at Celtic not to heap 'Romantic Lyrics' about Celtic FC in every press conference, he was here to do a job & he did a great job of being the manager of Celtic FC.

    1. 3 in a row
    2. Last 16 of CL twice
    3. A trophy every season at Celtic
    4. Managed all this with in a tight budget

    Hail Hail:shamrock:

Very successful however that success came at a massive cost - Strachan turned Parkhead into a morgue, and our support into a divided, apathetic mess. A massive cost indeed. Only now have we seen our support unite as one again and have Paradise rocking once again.

He's one of those managers that you don't appreciate until someone like Mowbray comes along. Gordon gave us all some great memories.

He brought Artur Boruc to Celtic and for that I will be eternally grateful to Strachan.

I know there are some who never took to him, but I personally never had any problem with the wee man. He was the first manager since the legend himself, Jock Stein, to win three league titles in a row, on a tighter budget than O'Neill had when he came here five years earlier.

Although there are some that didn't like him, you cannot deny how successful he was in his time here. He led us to famous victories over AC Milan, Man United, Shakhtar Donetsk etc as well, giving us some memorable European nights :50:

Noone should have anything but serious admiration for the guy. 3 in 4 is the best since Stein and he is also the only manager to ever progress us in the CL and did it twice in three CL campaigns. All this with relatively low paid players, no superstar EPL signings etc. I also think the stuff about his style is stupidly exagerated. We were horrible in the last half season under WGS but other than that Strachan played a style to win games at all levels and win he did. Other people have tried to play much more expansive flowing football and failed. TBH its sickening the way Strachan is talked about.

Could never understand why people didn`t like Gordon Strachan, his attitude towards the press people keeps getting mentioned. How likes any of the media Scotland, I don`t.

As WGS himself has said in interview, it rarely ends nicely in management. MON also had a very bad last season of turgid football and lost the league on the last day. TBH i think WGS and MON both stayed at least one season too many.

People didnt take to him becuase some of the football on the pitch was awful, and we were scraping out last minute results with teams like Gretna, then doing the same to AC Milan a week later :56: Personaly i loved the guy, absoloute legend :celt_2:

no, we did that by buying into the media portrayal of him ,the football side of things was down to cost cutting and playing to our strength at the time.
