Is this the major that they play a whole extra day if its a playoff?

If it is and Johnson finishes one ahead, they will be definitely drop a shot off him.

I lost too mate, but i think things transpired against him. He couldnt get a rhythm going or any momentum because he was having to play slow behind Johnson who needed 3 different rulings. His heart sank visibly a few times on the back 9.

Winner gets £1.24million, 2nd £740k, if Lowry goes over par here then he'll probably end up with £467k if he birdies it then he'll get £740k.

Parred it 3 joints 2nd will get about £550k each, to a golfer thats nothing as they earn millions but madness to have 1 bad day at work and cost yourself £700k.

That's my £10 each way on Justin Rose @ 35/1. He's not usually as long odds as that but I always take him so see how it goes.

Nearer the time I'll throw on a few more punts at a quid each.

    Who are you's taking?

Sneaky feeling Russell Knox will do well. He played quite well at the Scottish Open without setting the heather on fire.

Knox is US based now and is learning all the time.

Might have a couple of e/w bets from the start. Danny Willett at 55/1, Andy Sullivan at 75/1 & Matthew Fitzpatrick at 80/1. If I was taking someone to win outright, I'd be betting McIlroy at 10/1.

    Went for £2 e.w Spieth (12), £1 e.w Leishman(80), Knox(80) and Cabrera-Bello(100) with Betfair paying 7 places and on Bet365 £1.25 e.w on Grace(30) and Matsuyama(66) paying 6 places.

£15 hopefully a couple of them end up in the running.
