The most impressive thing I liked about Forster last season is by the end of the season his kicking was far improved. This shows a willingness to work on weaknesses and an effort to improve on his part.

If he can keep this up in other parts of his game we have a player on our hands. Look at Fraser Forster last season at the age of 22 or Alan McGregor at the same age. Who would you say is better?

Wouldn't have been my choice at all, but like every other player who pulls on a Celtic top, I'll give him full support when he plays.

I still think it is poor that we are going into a second season without a contracted number one.

His distribution is questionable as is his ability to get down fast enough but he seems an ok shot stopper and hopefully he can get better.

I think he was definitely Lennon's first choice. He's obviously became available again after the initial rejections from Newcastle and that's why we would have pulled out of the deal for the Polish lad.

    Lennon has said as much:

I think a loan deal is just to speed up the registration for tomorrow I think once hes registered weel make it permanent man because if theres a deal to sign him for £2 million or whatever then newcastle want to sell him.

Delighted with this. I hope it becomes a permenent deal!

    How can you say that?

We made 2 offers to Newcastle - both were rebuffed!

Our other attempts to sign GKs were half hearted - I believe that this guy WAS and IS Lenny's first choice - it's just taken until now to get it sorted!

Now don't get me wrong, I think there are better GKs out there, however a 23 year old, who has the record for shut outs in the spl having only played first team football for 1 season, who has the potential to get better...

It's actually a good signing and a no risk move - another season loan to see if continues to improve and works on his weaknesses - if he does then we sign him.

If he doesn't then we sign a fit Craig Gordon or someone else - as there will be others who will make their mark this season, there will be others out of contract next year, or with one year to go who will cost nothing or next to nothing.

Right now we have taken care of a problem position - we have a GK who knows the defence and a defence who know the GK = first choice right into the EL qualifier which gives everyone a bit more confidence!

    Confidence helps you win games!

He's also better than Zaluska and if you can improve on your current player in any position then that's progress!

    Hail Hail

Only problem is that it seems Forster wasn't Lennon's first choice

Seems like a very split opinion here - I was going to add a poll to this and now think I should have.

    Mods - could we add a poll please - probably simple one;

    1) Happy with FF in goal
    2) Not happy with FF in goal

The issue over whether you would have preferred a permanent deal or not is a side issue and neither here nor there - it's more about how you feel with Forster being Celtics number 1 for the season ahead.

    Thanks in advance!

    Hail Hail

Atleast we won't have to worry about how our new goalkeeper will handle big games as he has already made his mistakes.good to have him back and hopefully get Craig Gordon next season on a free.could be a great move by Lenny hopefully leaving our funds for a top striker

I dunno. He was the first we put a bid in for, and all our other targets only came about after Pardew said he definitely wouldn't give him back.
I think if Lennon thought it was 100% dead we might have got the Polish kid or someone else. I thought Neil was hanging out for Forster the whole time to be honest.
I'm not his biggest fan but I hope he can improve. He's still young and i'll get behind him for as long as he's here.

I think he was mate but his transfer fee and wages he would ask for were too high.I read yesterday that we could have bought him but he want big wages so a loan was cheaper.leaving space for Gordon for next season
