I remember a certain other Greek striker being very similar for us in big Samaras, who could be unplayable at times and chronic at others. However, on those occasions he did turn up he was definitely an asset.

He could run down that wing on a champions league night like a majestic horse prancing by to help us to the win almost single handedly.

The next game you'd think he was possessed by a 15 year old lassie who had never kicked a ball before. Still loved him.

    * me too :56:The guy that sat behind us at Celtic Park used curse him the whole game no matter what he did! He absolutely loathed him and I was always dying to turn round and tell him to shutit. :47:

Still really happy with how he played last night..

He needed that to get some/a lot of supporter's onside..

Was great. That finish gets better everytime you see it..

Away at Tynecastle is the perfect game to get MOTM. Very tough venue, hostile crowd? Big man smashed it.

Still unsure about him long-term, as I think Maeda will end up slotting as our second striker, but as an option he definitely offers something.

Such an underrated finish. Can only do him good, hopefully another couple at the weekend and midweek.

Aye all 3 of his finishes have been taken class..

Has a lot to offer us. So strong. Can't remember him being brushed aside once last night..

Probably would be third in line....gives us options with 5 subs and now knowing he can come in and do a job. May also be time's when Maeda is played out wide next to Kyogo....so plenty of game time to come still..

Done exactly what we needed from him..

It really does. The finish of a quality natural goalscorer.

Goal aside, I thought he was poor.

If Kyogo is out injured for a long spell and this guy is backing up Maeda, I'd be worried for us tbh.

:39: You cannot compare him to Kyogo or Maeda, totally different type of player. He doesn't run around creating space but he can battle and hold his own. I thought his work rate and his overall leading the line was excellent.

Thought he had a great game and worked his baws off too. Kinda unfair for him that he will be compared with Kyogo and Maeda in terms of his movement, pressing etc as both of them are on a completely different level to most strikers.
If you compare him with likes of Griffiths, Ajeti, Edouard or Dembele in terms of work rate then he would be looked upon far more favourable.

Tend to agree, he will frustrate most defo, but probably the most natural goalscorer we've had since dembele. Guy could do nothing for 90 mins yet bag a goal. Thought his attitude last night was also sublime

In years to come we'll all be calling every striker a lazy we * no matter how much they run just because of kyogo :56: some boy.

We're forgetting that Souttar is supposed to be the Ranjurz big saving grace next season at the CB and Giakoumakis won out the physicality battle easily.

    I didn't compare them.

I said with Kyogo out for a long period I'm worried about this guy being our striker.

This is the thing, you wouldn't expect someone like ibrahimovic to move and press like Kyogo does yet we'd all agree he's a world class striker. I'm no way comparing giakoumakis to someone like him btw, just saying they are completely different types of striker and weve already seen some good hold up play and finishing from this lad. It gives us the option of adapting how we play going forward if needed and when kyogo is back it means that we can rotate when needed rather than running him into the ground
