German Bundesliga

Looks like Hoffenheim are screwed. They were 1st on the table for few weeks and then fell to 7th. Congratulations to Wolves, well done.

 

Congrats to Wolfsburg, they * raped Bremen.

Hoffenheim have had a fairytale start to life in the Bundesliga. Hopefully they improve and grab a European slot next season.

Is it just me or has German football been amongst the best this season (As a league)?

 

It's not just you, mate, many people have started to consider Bundesliga as one of the best. Brilliant football, even better to watch than Serie A.

 

Just watched the Wolfsburg game on setanta and i must admit their strip is smart as *.

my bet didnT come true....(was for stuttgart) but wolfsburg deserved it it. totally * off with bremen. of course what they showd in the uefa cup wasnT great, but i thought they might just hang in and make the rivals bleed(talkin diego ) but NOOO.... ) the tried to keep themselves together for the cup final (wonder^^) thats the same with leverkusen did just the same...but all in all, great season close call, many goals and no bayern winning, so itS all good! (PS. gladbach stay in nice 1 too )

 

edit. must admit after woflsburg leadin i only followed the struggle at the bottom... was really exciting, friend of mine is from gladbach! really really close down there!^^

 

Makes a change them winning the League i noticed the derbvy with dotmind and moenchengladbach if dortmund won it would have relegated them imagine the rioting if that happened

well, the real derby wouldVE been gladbach vs köln tbh...they hate each other big time. i remember, when some köln supporters broke into a gladbach supporters club home and stole a big bannner, just to burn it the next day at the match between the two...that was hard stuff. they nearly had to abandon the game after the gladbach support realized what was goin on (it all happend in köln). with dortmund itS more this "who is the real borussia" thingy.

just got back from the match VfB Stuttgart - FC Bayern Munich. It was a good game and great atmosphere. We were sitting close to the Bayern section and I couldn´t believe that they were singing nonstop.

Toni scored sometime around the 85th minute but it was offside. Stuttgart was better, had better chances / were more dangerous, but Bayern was better in passing and possessing the ball. all in all the tie was justified ;-)

 

I think Mainz have been the surprise of the season so far...

 

I've actually been following the German league a lot on ESPN. I've seen something like 4 Dortmund games in the past month or so. Also watched the Leverkusen Hamburg "top of the table clash" which turned out to be a bit of a damp squib.

Entertaining though. What I've noticed is a lot of these German teams (no offence to any Germans) are fairly average, and to go along with the stereotype industrious without that much real flair. Hope to be proven wrong though and will continue to observe from afar...

Gladbach won in Hamburg :icon_mrgreen: let´s hope we can win there, too.

@mmmikey: no offence taken and yeah, I´m aware of that but I have to say that the quality is much better than a few years ago WITHOUT the millions from takeovers like it happens in the EPL! We have a rule/law that nobody can buy the majority (51%) of a club.

 

I reckon part of thats down to the closeness of standard - see this article on why the Bundesligas the 'best in Europe' . Less flair because it can get you into trouble, and because teams are less likely to be coasting.

Bremen?? NEVER!!!!!! It´s grünweiss because of the hoops

 

Bundesliga is very exciting competition. Lots of goals and all the teams are pretty equal. Must say I'm disappointed with Bayern, not that I'm a fan, I'm certainly not. But Bayern's football is poor, although they have great bunch of players.

Have no favorites, but I always like to hear Hoffeinheim wins.
