    Who on Earth would he choose I wonder? Every football team in the known universe is determined to take Sammy on 500k a week but the choice between Hull and Barcelona shall be the toughest of a lifetime.

    He should go play in the Moroccan league or somewhere else suited to his tempo.

    Sammy has been a great servant to us over the years. Sometimes fantastic other times you wouldnt even have him in the reserve team !!!...I enjoy watching Sammy when he is at his best but all too often recently his bad performances have far outwieghed his better ones. Other than today, domestically we play a faster, pacier game without him, he slows us down a bit. For a team to progress and move forward , some players have to be moved on. I now think it is time for him to move on and maybe get his last big pay day, free up his wages for a quality striker that we have been calling out for. For what he is bringing to the team at the moment, I dont think he will be missed

    I like the guy but I really think his time is up. We all know now what the pattern is. Good, *, good, *, good, *, excellent, utter *, world class, hopeless. I'm tired of the charade.

    Hopefully we get a good offer of 3 million or so for him in January. With retrospect, we should have sold him in the summer after an excellent European campaign. We could have got 6 million or more for him.

    Hull City to bid £1m for Georgios Samaras from Celtic as January transfer window opens

    Hull City are preparing to tempt Scottish champions Celtic by tabling a £1m offer for striker Georgios Samaras when the transfer window opens tomorrow. With Samaras’ current contract due to expire at the end of the season and little prospect of an extension being signed, Celtic boss Neil Lennon has become increasingly resigned to losing the Greece international.

    The 28-year-old will be a free agent in the summer and the Tigers are hopeful a seven-figure bid will be enough to force the issue and get their man. City boss Steve Bruce recently played down talk of a move for Samaras, but the Celtic man is one of several options under consideration by the Tigers.

    With Bruce aiming to add a proven goal-threat to his ranks, Samaras fits that bill and would be available at a knock-down price. Six years at Parkhead are destined to come to an end sooner rather than later, and a move back to the Premier League is thought to be his preferred choice, having previously played for Manchester City.

    “I don’t know what the next stage of my career will bring,” Samaras said recently. “Money has never been a motivating factor in my career because I could have left Celtic and signed for a team with more money. I’ve had offers, most from teams in England, who have offered more money than Celtic."

    “That proves I’ve always put money into the background. How will things develop? I don’t know.”

    Bruce has made recruiting a new striker his only priority in a window where he only wants “one or two” quality additions. With Aaron Mclean and Nick Proschwitz available for transfer and Gedo likely to be sent back to parent club Al Ahly, the Tigers are making room for fresh blood.
