Georgios Samaras

Thought he did well tonight until his injury. Thankfully we could bring on an in form striker like Watt but he was pushing Wilson for MOTM for me.

 

Constant threat tonight. But we saw both sides of Samaras. An excellent outball and can drift past people with ease...but his final ball can frustrate.

Did very well, though.

 

I'm absolutely delighted that he's continued his good form from the second half of last season into this season.

If he can remain consistent over the next couple of years, then he could go on to make a real name for himself in Celtic lore.

 

... and I agree that he should just drive his laces through the ball more often when bearing down on goal!

 

He was always a great player but an obvious confidence player. Some fans made it 10 times harder for him to come good. A disgrace IMO.

He was excellent tonight, his final execution isn't always great but he really does look unplayable when he's driving into the box from the wing.

I actually think Hooper's movement has been poor recently. Samaras, Commons, Forrest and Watt all played some good balls into the box and I think he could have done better on some of them

 

Absolutely agree with you. On his day from the word go he was our best player and for some of us to get on his back like we did was awful.

Everytime he got the ball he was dangerous! The occasional dithering on the ball. But those Helsingborg defenders were terrified from him!

Keep it up for the group stages!!

First half he was unplayable.

 

Best player on the park once again .

 

Pace and lower. still learning how and when to use it. Glad we kept him. Sammi frustration and joy is part of the fabric of celtic now!

What a player he is at times. Excellent again tonight.

 

They just couldn't deal with him again, unplayable is the word. Nearly every one of our better attacks went through Samaras tonight. I got goosebumps hearing him get that reception as he went off the pitch - what a turnaround for the big man. Absolutely love him.
