Well if the guy you're playing up front with keeps giving away possession, running into dead ends and doesn't link up with you then yes I would say it becomes much harder for his strike partner to have a good game.

Look at the way Hooper and Stokes bounce off each other and compare that to when Samaras is in the team. The contrast is stark.

No offense here buddy but if you rate Zaluska and you rate Sammy then your football opinion is quite shoddy to be honest. You can ask 9 out of 10 Celtic fans if these two players are good enough for Celtic starting 11 week in week out and they'll tell you they are not.

He can only play up front alone as he has no footballing intelligence or vision to link-up with players, make space for players or anything.

He's like our version of Torres, cant play with anyone, cant score if he plays himself

Not true, he played well with McDonald and linked well when they played together,as well as Big Jan.

But at the timeBig Jan and Skippy were a better partnership, and kept Sammy out.

He had no partnership with MAF, nostly because both were played out wide, by a clueless, * manager.

Has had a few decent games with Hooper, just hasn't played with him that often,as Hoops and Stokes are a better partnership.

I agree, he is useless up next to Stokesy though.

He was poor tonight but things may have been different had Lennon not opted to play strikers out wide.

He HAS to go, how many chances is he going to get? Absolute imposter.

Anyone else see him sticking the finger up to a few Celtic fans that were giving him stick?

    Just * off Samaras:31:

I thought our lesson would have been learnt after Mowbray tried this horrendous tactic.

Samaras needs to be sold. He just completely * the flow of the team up. I know Lenny got the tactics wrong tonight but Samaras still drags the players around him down to his level. I would have Murphy ahead of him. He just * infuriates me when I see him playing:31:

Can honestly say never has a Celtic player disappointed me as much as this guy. His lack of effort and endless shrugging of his shoulders is the most infuriating sight I have seen for a good long while.

A player should never have to react to fan's abuse, on a football pitch. It's not great for his confidence, is it?
I'll agree, he was poor tonight. For one of the highest wage earners in the squad, his rate of work doesn't match. It is frustrating, he can have those glimmers of hope that make you adore the guy (OF game), but then every other time, he's mediocre.
He has all the physics attributes: tall, strong physical presence, quick-paced; but i'm confused how he's not playing good. I'm concerned about his happiness, that could be the problem.

your concerned about his happiness ? The charlatan is taking a wage from Celtic and doing next to * all in return.if I could get away with that in my job I would be over the moon. I dont know if anybody noticed on Saturday at half time the subs were out warming up and that waste of space was sitting in the dugout by himself doing even less than he normally does. You may find this hard to believe but I dont rate him

Agree, if he had Stokes near him to link up with then he would probably have been better

whenever he plays all we do is hoof the ball up to him, but if stokes and hooper play its on the deck constantly and we are a much much better team

He tries but he has lost a fair chunk of the support and will probably never get it back, I think its time to move the big guy on. I would love him to prove me wrong but he is so frustrating its unbelievable!

Wages aren't everything. Could be a backroom argument with Lennon.... could be anything. I don't get it- i think he has class, but is just so disappointing on so many occasions.
That 2-0 game against the Rangers, his celebration where he leaped over the ad-boards and ran into the fans, was really the best thing i'd seen in ages. I thought that was the turning point.:54:
