GMS is a true reflection of Ronnys tenure as manager, everyone was too nice, we got bullied to * from teams and GMS was hiding most of the time he played. Go now.

Shame it's not worked out cause the boy has talent but he could not get a good run of form and would be found wanting most games.

I just don't think he has the bottle/mentality to play for us, there were times last season when he played and he looked completely shot of confidence. He also comes across as a nervous wreck in interviews/Celtic TV.

If GMS and Armstrong both leave, I wouldn't bat an eye, we need to get rid of deadwood, and Him, Armstrong and Efe would be the first to go for me.

Those flipflops, holy *. :56: Surely someone gave him a good slagging for them. Flipflops and a tracksuit, what was he thinking. :smiley-laughing002:

He can still bang in goals, its just not all the time. He will do well at Ross County.

Did Brendan not say on Friday that there is nothing to the reports of him going out on loan ?

GMS doesn't seem to have the drive he did a few years ago with Dundee United. Even in his first 4 months here where he lit it up, alot of his play was indirect and he was the beneficiary of on-form players like Johansen, Griffiths, and Brown. Since then, he hasn't shown the skill or the motivation to get the fans off their seats like he once did. Personally he was my fan favourite going into last season but I just can't see it working out here. He and Armstrong are bound to lose their place when we bring in higher quality players in the midfield.

I really think GMS can flourish under Brendan, hopefully with him back in training his injuries are behind him and he can get back to it. When he first signed I was far more enthusiastic about him than Armstrong and I still think that, if GMS can get back to form he can be deadly and play a pivotal role for us, time will tell though.

its a long season and both gms and armstrong were terrific in there first 6 months, a lot of players failed to play well last season why is it we always pick on the same ones, truth be told we could honestly get rid of all of ronnies team from last season they so regularly failed to perform in a manner expected of a celtic team, in the end it looked like the werent motivated to do it for ronnie like they would rather lose the league than let him get another league championship, they seemed to really resent him, they were all man for man found wanting last season imo.

these 2 guys can learn from a more succesful and experienced manager at the least they can be back up to the main men, these guys were bought as prospects aswell and as such regarded as a couple of the best young scottish players in the league

Really good point. One thing I'm really looking forward to seeing under Rodgers is the development of some of the fringe and younger players, he's got a great reputation for putting him arm around the shoulder of younger players and instilling confidence, am hoping this will be seen in the likes of Forrest, Mcgregor, MGS, O'Connell, KT, etc. Exciting times ahead.

Found myself wondering whether Mackay-Steven might be a useful player under Rodgers.

He's certainly not a starter, but we all know he's a pretty handy player when he's on form. Sinclair talked a lot about the freedom and belief Rodgers gives him, and we're seeing what impact it's had on James Forrest.

I think Mackay-Steven, with a bit of confidence and self-belief, would be a useful squad member. He's got a bit of pace, can beat a man and can score a goal.

If he can make a player out of Forrest, he can do it for GMS.

GMS is more talented and skilful than Forrest, for me. We saw his talent at United and in his first few months here.

He lost his way last season when he was playing through injury and the team was in a really bad place. There is a player in there, for sure.

GMS can thrive under rogers but he needs to toughen the * up.

Yep, our squad is going to be stretched super thin over the coming months assuming we get champions league football. We will need gms in the league for games away to Kilmarnock or Hamilton etc.

I agree. He has more goals in him and he's tricky when he's on his game.

It'd be great if he could improve GMS. That would give us 4 good options for out wide.
