Ever so subtle me old son. Naw, GMS had a stormer his first half season, he was on fire and he outshone other players in Deilas not so well scripted formations. But since then Gary has been very Pukki esque, lightweight and not too confident. He gets his chance and does just O.K. and it shows, if he was on song all those unlucky moments and shots start turning gold. But he is just too hard luck son. Pity, he is a nice guy, but sometimes nice guys come last. Aberdeen a perfect fit.

McInnes won't touch him with a barge pole. Likely end up at Hamiton or St Mirren.

    Well it's the truth but.
You think McInnes is going to sabotage all the good work he has done at Aberdeen over the last three years by putting a crap merchant on the left wing ? Not on your Nelly Duff. You yourself said McGinn and Hayes were better than him this morning.

"Wouldn't touch him with a barge pole" is still a ridiculous thing to say.

GMS would be, at worst, a good squad player for Aberdeen.

The amount of people on here saying that about every player apart from Roberts , Sinclair, and Tierney , if our manager read and took note ,(not that he would ,that's why he is paid very well unlike most of us )we would be constantly changing our team about and never get a settled squad ,wait we already did that last season .

Glasgow Celtic are set to lose midfielder Gary Mackay-Steven this summer as newly-promoted Sheffield United look to strengthen ahead of their first Championship campaign for six years.

The 26-year-old has struggled to breaking into the treble-winning Hoops starting XI this term, making just five starts, and now it seems the winger is set to leave Parkhead.

However, the Blades fear they may be priced-out for a permanent summer deal, with the Scotland international still having two years remaining on his current deal, and instead will look to an initial loan-to-buy offer.

Bhoys boss Brendan Rodgers is expected to allow Mackay-Steven to exit the club in the upcoming transfer window, with the Northern Irishman holding a plethora of talented wide-men in his squad.

However, Sheffield manager Chris Wilder has insisted he will not accept any addition terms in the former Dundee United player’s agreement, stating that it could well be a potential deal-breaker.

“There’s been things where you have to pay double the wages if they don’t play and stuff like that,” the 49-year-old told the Daily Record.

“Where the loan fee goes up or where there’s all sorts of different penalties and clauses involved if they aren’t in the team every single week.

“There was nothing of the sort with Joe Riley from Manchester United when he came here. That’s from one of the biggest clubs in the world.

“I spoke to Nicky * and he said: It’s up to Joe to try and get in.

“Nobody is guaranteed first-team football anywhere. That’s not the way it works and so I don’t see why it should for people on loans.

“It’s not something I’m ever going to get involved in. Every player fights for a place. Simple.”

There is no doubt that if the talented Mackay-Steven were to join the now-Championship side then he would feature regularly.

However, Rodgers and the Celtic Park hierarchy may be keen to implement stipulations into the deal if the English club are not willing to complete the transfer outright, and are instead attempting to lessen the final fee by forcing the Scot’s contract to run-down.

Gary is a good player but lacks passion. I hope he can make a * career for himself. He's good enough for us if he had that bit between the teeth.

Wonder what we'd be talking about if he scored against Man City away. Had a great little cameo and really should've scored. Always wondered if he did, would we be seeing another Rodgers miracle taking place?

Would rather just offload him entirely. Never going to be good enough for the direction we are going in.

I think he'd struggle down south, something about him just makes me think he wouldn't cut it. Not so much the standard, but everything else around being a footballer. Totally baseless theory I know :56:

Hibs or St Johnstone maybe he'd have more of an impact.

One of those players where the hoops seemed to weigh him down.
