For me he has been the best player at the club (least in form) since joining he actually looks a far better player than I thought he was

I've watched quite a lot of Dundee Utd over the last couple of years and that was mainly to watch GMS (and a couple of other Scots). Almost every gamr i saw him play in he was excellent. I think, had Robertson and Gauld not shone so brightly last year, people would have been raving about him a lot more. I'd been crying out for us to sign him for over 2 years and i genuinely thought we'd missed the window. Again, i think we're lucky Gauld and Robertson distracted the scouts, otherwise he'd be playing in the EPL by now.

He really is the ultimate winger. Scores, dribbles, crossing, passing, tackling, tracking etc. The kind of performances we tended to get from Samaras in Europe, though i think GMS will score more and be more consistent in all competitions. We needed to replace Sammy badly, i only wish we'd signed him sooner.

I would feel bad about poaching your best player if i wasn't so happy he is pulling on the green and white. :52:

He was our best player, no doubt about it, although the majority of United supporters couldn't see it, maybe even Jackie couldn't see it cos' we never exactly pushed the boat out to get him to extend his contract, just sat back and let it run down, criminal in my eyes.

I was excited when I 1st heard about it mainly though fifa and YouTube ( don't watch any Scottish football outwit us and he never really stood out its probably also unfair to judge attacking players playing against us tbh) but he's bleeden deadly chuffed with him easily the 3rd best player to watch in the team ( after stef and brown)

I honestly think he could turn out to be our best player, too. What he has achieved in such a short space of time exceeded even my expectations and i already regarded him very highly. I'm looking forward to seeing him with a full season under his belt to see what he he is really capable of.

Unfortunately, when things aren't going well, it tends to be the creative wide players that are the first to be blamed. When we drew a couple of weeks back it's amazing how fast people turned on him. The whole team were gash that day but GMS was arguably the best of a bad bunch. But he, Armstrong, Commons, Forrest, Stokes, and previously Samaras, would be chastised for not single handedly annihilating the opposition.

Has nothing to do with nationality . GMS and Armstrong are level headed and have great attitudes but that isn't because they are scottish ffs , and Guidetti isn't a prima donna because he is a " foreign import " . Mcgeady was a prima donna and had an elitest attitude , Tony Watt had a stinking attitude as do plenty of the boys in our youth setup currently - while Johansen , Izzaguire and Denayer are all foreigners who are very grounded , quiet individuals. Has nothing to do with nationality , it's just personality , get different types of characters everywhere.

I agree with you 100% :50: Not saying for a second that Johansen, Izzy, Denayer, Lustig and plenty other foreigners we've had in the past don't have the perfect attitude or that home grown players are always perfect. I was more meaning players like Guidetti who see us as a stepping stone or beneath them in comparison to home grown talent who see us as the top club in the country and feel the need to work their socks off to reach our level rather than it being some sort of right.

I'm worried about him to be honest. It says in the Celtic View this week that "his excitement is growing" :s:

    Didn't think that was possible

His wee bobble head is going to fall off then.

I love him. Thinks hes a cracking wee player with a great attitude. He is like a kid playing football in the street or the park its brilliant.

This. Reminds me of Aiden when he first came through, someone that just loves having the ball and showing what he can do.

Biggest thing that has impressed me about GMS is his finishing. He is a very classy finisher and I reckon he could score a good few for us next season and beyond.

Also a player who you wouldn't necessarily see running for a move in a few years time. Think he'll be here as long as we want him..

Love his attitude, so refreshing, watching and listening to him speak is like that of a teenager, you forget he's about 24:56:

I think because he's been to a big club when he was younger and not made it, he'll appreciate it more and stay for a good while

If he has an incredible season next year and is class in Europe , he will attract interest from big clubs .Celtic will be willing to sell for the right money , and the player will be willing to go and treble his wages somewhere . This is true of all players at our club.

Some bhoy Gary just met him in Co-op dalry road it was packed with a fair few hearts fans as well coming out the surrounding gorgie pubs. Should have seen the look of relief on his face when I congratulated him the on the league win, he definitely thought I was a jambo going to give him some abuse. Quiet night in for him by the looks of it he was with his mum and his sister, the sister was alright looking but GMS is just adorable.
