I wouldn't pay 250k for 6 months personally and United wouldn't hold you to it either.

You'll get him for 100 to 150k, otherwise United would be * the money up a wall to keep a player that doesn't want to be there for half a season.

Dundee Utd made a profit last year before selling 2 players for circa £6m. They do not need £150k.

Keeping GMS for another 6 months may be the difference between a top 3 finish or winning a trophy. If i were united I'd hold out for the £250k, or even more. I seem to remember Monaco trying to sign Larsson for £1m under similar circumstances. No way in * were celtic going to let him leave early just for pocket money. And I'll bet Utd feel the same about GMS.

Plus they'll want to stop their arch New Firm rivals from winning the league, so they'll help us out.

He could be vital for us in our push for the treble. Do we really need to be squabbling over 100k or so. I see the point you are making, but we are talking about pennies here in all honesty. Different if we were talking about a million or so, but we aren't.

Agreed mate, we are very hypocritical when it comes to trying to get the best Scottish talent on the cheap. We tend to find it an outrage when we get a cheeky bid from an EPL club but are quite happy to risk losing targets from Scottish clubs for the sake of £100k.

As much as I would welcome GMS I wouldn't blame Unitied for keeping hold.

Armstrong is different we would need to pay top money to get him before the EPL sides snap him up.

GMS is not Larsson, he isn't a guaranteed starter at United and he wouldn't be at Celtic either.

We won't pay 250k for him and for me rightly so.

I was comparing the situation, not the player (but he is younger than Larsson was when we signed him:icon_mrgreen:.)

When fit and on form, he is a guaranteed starter. Most of his sub appearances have been on the back of niggling injuries that he hadn't fully recovered from. He's now fully fit and we are now seeing his ability. Forrest isn't a guaranteed starter either (for similar reasons) but we certainly wouldn't get rid of him.

If Deila rates him that highly do you really think £100k, circa 1 months wage for Scott Brown, is going to make a difference?

I think a reality check is needed on what 'Celtic Class' is!

Would rather get him in right now. We are well light in the left hand side of the park. Pay the money and get him in.

Average at best my *. The kid is a superstar.. Sure he get alot of time on the bench but that shouldn't be a surprise! It's not cause he's * it's cause teams are too defensive minded.. Although that is improving year on year.

My view is he has in no way hit his ceiling, maybe with united but not overall. I think he will only grow with us. I really want him in the hoops, and eventually a regular in the national side. He has it.

I'm not sure you quite understand what celtic class is in the present day.

United fans saying they would rather nothing and just keep him. Accepting a paupers fee and strengthening the opposition or just keep him, keep them strengthened and then he goes.

    They're right.

We should just pay the fee though, its not that much.

GMS has played 19 league games and came off the bench just four times.
All the other games he started.

So yes he is a regular starter in the league.

I think maybe, players going both ways and some cash thrown in for the pair of them. Armstrong and GMS.

We've got a few guys like Twardzik who are good enough players and maybe playing for United is somehow easier than playing for Celtic. Less pressure. So we'll see.

United want players and they want cash, but they don't necessarily want to pay cash out.
