Game of Thrones

Just watched the first episode of this, loved it. Looks like this could be a cracking show. lots of lovely * on display aswell, great bonus:smiley-laughing002:

Why?

The level of acting in Game of Thrones is phenomenal. Can't think of a poor actor or performance in it.

 

Is this any good? Sky have seasons 1-3 in their box set collection. Was thinking of watching it. Although, is it along the Lord of the Rings type of thing? I wasnt a fan if the films - more to do with Peter Jackson than anything else.

 

It's amazing mate, one of the best shows on TV. The plot, characters, setting and acting is fantastic.

It's similar to LOTR in that it features sword fighting and that sort of medieval theme, but they're very different. GOT is political, features sorts of magic at times, has a lot of nudity and death. It's a lot darker than LOTR.

Funnily enough though, LOTR are my favourite films and GOT is my favourite TV show.

It's better than Lord of the Rings. Although that's still good, it's a bit geeky for me, I only really watched it for the fight scenes.

This is just class.

 

So why do they all have northern English accents ?

maybe that's how they sound in westeros and the rest of the 7 kingdoms

 

Watch the 1st episode and you will be hooked, its excellent and I cant wait til the new series

 

It's the go-to accent for medieval fantasy shows. LOTR was the same.

They're not all Northern though, but most do have an English tint to them. The Lannisters don't have northern accents.

What's funny, is Ygritte, the most northern sounding person in ASOIAF's actress is actually very southern and posh sounding irl.

 

Don't mean it just in game of thrones but in general about accents
only little finger/john boy is annoying

 

Only watched the first 3 episodes so far, loving it.

Just finished reading the books that have been released so far. Can only recommend to anyone watching it to stop and go read the books, far more intense!! The show is still good mind you.

 

He's supposed to be a * and plays the role well.

 

Books are great,left last book in series on ruddy train while halfway through it so defo need to buy it again.

Not the same as a book I know but I am so into it right now I can't imagine the pain of being halfway through then losing the book!
