Game of Thrones

I wouldn’t go as far to say it’s been completely ruined - it’s still great from a visual/audio perspective and has some amazing scenes. It has though noticeably declined since they ran out of GRRM source material, probably moreso for people who have read the books.

One of the best things about the series in the early days was that no character was safe and everyone could be offed at anytime in less than heroic fashion. There is a tremendous amount of plot armour in place now though. I love some of these characters, but the likes of Brienne, Jaime, Greyworm...even Jon and Dany were horrifically isolated and outnumbered as a literal tide of undead surrounded them in all side. Winterfell was essentially ransacked but none of them died. Even fat Sam survived after basically lying on the ground surrounded by wights.

It was an episode of two halves in some ways - outstanding opening sequence but died out a bit from the midway point and fell off a cliff at the end.

I think that Cersei will go full Mad Queen and try to blow up King's Landing with wildfire. Game of Thrones is the kind of series in which her plan could succeed.

My predictions:

Sandor will kill Gregor, but he will be fatally wounded; Arya will give him a coup de grâce.

Arya or Jaime will kill Cersei.

Jaime will die in Brienne's arms.

(I think that their character arcs demand something like that.)

If someone does sit on the Iron Throne, I think that Sansa is nailed on for Hand of the King or Queen, if not Queen in the North or even Queen of the Seven Kingdoms herself.

I think that these comments from George R.R. Martin are quite telling:

 

Naw man I thought the whole thing was so dark at points you could barely see what was going on, I ended up I had to put the lights in the room off just to see * was going on, and see who was who. I've heard loads of complaints all over the web about this.
Gotta say I wasn't impressed that much by the whole episode thought it was a bore of * to be honest, Aria's bit at the end was good though, gutted the Red Witch got killed off before she could get her kit off again Dammit -SLURP-

 

Two best pieces of music, imo.

 

If they didn't wanna kill of tarly they should have kept him in the crypt and fend off wights their would have made more sense was just daft to think he survived the battle

Was great from a visual sense but let down I least wanted to know * the night Kings motives were theirs a reason why people do things let alone why raise the dead and try kill everyone.... Also Jon and Danny were a major let down in the episode John could have killed the dragon if he stabbed it with his valryian sword or did he forget he had it on him all he did was stand their and scream at it

I believe that the Night King wanted vengeance, nothing more: the Wars of the First Men and the Children of the Forest led to his creation; he held both responsible.

I think that he was merely a plot device in the end, so his simple motivation was sufficient.

 

Aye I thought that was weird. His incompetence got the night watch guy killed though, so perhaps he was needed for that?

 

For me that harkened back to when Sam was first introduced to the Watch and his new friends were warned that he'd get them killed.

 

keep hearing some cast members saying its a very bittersweet end and alot people will be * /delighted .after sundays episode alot are expecting cersi to dye at the hands off arya .just imagine she does kill her .maybe with jamies face
{if he gets killed} and the final scene sees arya ripping jamie face off mission impossible style to reveal arya ..then she rips her own face off to reveal the waif and she been dead all along​

 

Maybe that's yet to be revealed.

 

Jon and Dany were good characters on their own but have been * since they got together.
Don’t think the story works and there is no chemistry between Emilia Clarke and Kit Harrington as actors either.

 

Dany is boring as *. Baffles me that so many people love her.

 

Guys like her because she’s tidy, girls like her because she’s got a bit of power.

I’m not arsed about her. She’s had some good moments though.

Kinda spoilers below...

I agree with hound and mountain, both will die at the hands of each other, wasn't sure mind you if Mountain might defeat hound and before he can finish Hound off, Arya will do him and then Hound will die.

Jamie I'm thinking either at hands of Brienne after changing his loyalties to save Cersei, or it maybe be Cersei back stabs him and Tyrionne kills Cersei in retaliation.

Padraig or whatever he's called will die and the old guy who I cannae mind the name of, but was gonna kill the Red Witch.

 

Wasn't the whole Night King just a creation by the Forest dudes and he was going to wipe out humanity, Sam says to Bran he would be the first in line to get done in by NK because he has a those memories, so a main reason to do him in.

 

Still think there's got to be some big twist involving bran otherwise he's just spent the whole season sat about doing * all.

 

Well I enjoyed it. The bits I could see anyway.

The next episode is going to be a filler before we get two belters I'm hoping. Can see Daenerys killing Jon or Sansa. She's not going to give up that throne. Not a bit of it.
