Amazing episode in terms of visuals and adrenaline, but terrible ending imo. Felt incredibly cheap.

Sounds like a great episode I'll be watching shortly.

However, it sounds like what I didn't want happening has happened and I'm not happy.

    Shame really.

I thought that was fantastic, much more like it.
Not sure what was wrong with the ending?

    * * that entire last sequence, I’ve never been gripped to a scene like that in my life.

I was freaking out because I thought when the Night King was teaching for his weapon, he was going to pull his face off to reveal Arya. Would be too far fetched though because it would mean she’d already killed him.

For me it seemed really badly written.

They’ve written the main threat underpinning the whole series out of the storyline after 7.5 seasons build up. Cersei Lannister currently looks like the smartest person in Westeros and after pushing the notion that the Iron Throne didn’t really matter, and the entire quest for rulership being futile, we’re now going to finish the season with a throwdown for the throne. Fair enough. It’s not the route I would’ve gone down.

The Arya situation though....just bizarre. It felt a bit like they had just stuck that scene in very last minute, almost as if they had cornered themselves and needed an easy way out - so Arya basically just teleports in and shanks the guy. Meh. I don’t really like the idea of Arya being the one killing the Night King, but if that’s the route they want to go down (or indeed the route Martin told them to go down) at least make it somewhat plausible.

I could go on an on really, it would’ve been good to have some dialogue between the NK and Bran (what the * use we he as the three eyed raven btw?), it would’ve been better if every seen wasn’t key characters getting overwhelmed only to miraculously survive etc.

Overall though it was entertaining and epic. The scenes with the dragon were outstanding, and the charge from the Dothraki (whoever had that idea should be flayed) really set the tone for the hopelessness of the situation.

I thought everything made perfect sense to be honest. Dunno what * are talking about :39:

I was having a panic attack from the moment the opening scene started till the last.

Jon Snow was * useless in that battle. The ones who put in a proper shift like Jaime and big Brienne should be having words.
Enjoyed the battle but really hope that’s the end of the white walkers. Never been too keen on this aspect of the show.

Arya did appear from nowhere and there were some miraculous escapes but it had to end somehow and I thought it was ok.
Had Arya met the red woman in a previous episode? Couldnt really figure out who/what she was supposed to be.

Thought the episode was good, and the last 15 minutes or so were completely gripping. The more I think about it though, the more problems I have with it.

I expected the Night king to die in this episode so they could focus on Cersei, the true villain of the show. However, I do feel that the White Walkers haven't lived up to expectation. They've been built up since the first scene of the show. They'd had some cool moments but we've seen them south of the wall for one episode and that's it.

We never got to see any White Walkers fighting last night either. All the talk about Valyrian steel swords and dragonglass over the years, and for what? Seeing Jorah, Jaime, Brienne, Jon etc. face off against White Walkers, as opposed to Wights would have been much more rewarding.

I'm also a wee bit surprised at how few massive deaths there were.

I’d agree with all of this mate.

I loved it but felt the Night King and White Walkers should have survived that battle or at least went down taking out a few massive characters.

Do you know the script with Bran? What was he upto with his Three Eyed Raven stuff? What was he controlling? I thought it was the Night King or his Dragon but no sure.

No idea. Obviously he used the ravens to see where the Night King and his dragon were, but * knows why he zoned out for half the episode.:giggle1:

I was half expecting to see a flashback.
