What the actual f*ck? FF never came across as anything other than a total professional when he was here in both of his stints and gave his all - never felt as though he was half-arsing it, so where is all this coming from? :97:

Oh, just when it read about you replying to the comment, I thought it was about Celtic saving Forster's career, as obvs FF second stint here revitalized his Southampton career, just as his first time with us sparked his career in the first place from not even sitting on a Newcastle bench, so was thinking of it from that perspective, lol. Sorry.

He was probably still an England international at the time of signing the deal.

Carries a lot of weight down there.

Been called back into the England squad after 2 keepers pulled out. Probably won't get a game but he really should have gotten another shot when on loan with us, he was awesome that season.

Fraser Forster was delighted to see Celtic scoop derby day glory – but warns their win over Rangers hasn't sealed the title.

The former Hoops keeper watched on as Tom Rogic and Cameron Carter-Vickers goals claimed a 2-1 victory for Ange Postecoglou's men at Ibrox.

It has put them six points clear at the Premiership summit with six games to go this season.

Forster returned to Southampton in 2020 following a loan spell at Parkhead which culminated in an inspired League Cup victory and another league title crown.

It was the second time the 34-year-old – who was thrown back into England contention last month – had been at Celtic after initially joining on loan from Newcastle in 2010.

He would go on to have four years at the Glasgow giants before his 2014 move to Saints.

Speaking of his former side's most recent derby win, Forster says it filled him with joy as a fan, but the ultimate goal is not yet achieved.

He told Sky Sports: "I did watch it, I watch all of them. I loved my time at Celtic and I will be a supporter for life. It's a huge result.

They showed character to come away with the three points. It's the same as ever at the top of the league, it isn't over until it's over.

"It will be an interesting run-in with plenty of points to play for. There's one more Old Firm and there is a lot of work to do to get that title over the line.

"It's a massive result, especially at Ibrox. It gives massive confidence for the Celtic lads and hopefully it kicks them on."

He's out of contact in the summer.

With Champions League Group Stage Football on the horizon and £40 million cash injection.

The Great Wall is available on a free transfer having made his millions in the south of England sitting on the bench.

Contract terms of course. Negotiatiable. Fraser Forster has shown that he has no problem sitting on the bench and playing for Southampton reserves. Which is why I'm absolutely certain he'll have no problem sitting on ours to Joe Hart.

We need a replacement to Barkas. 2 goalkeepers. The opportunity for young 3rd keeper understudy, to learn from the best is there in Joe Hart. And potentially, Fraser Forster next season.

Bring him home. I think, £12,000 - £15,000 a week in wages would be reasonable starting negotiation for a well loved and adored keeper!

I think the huns will make a move for him if we don't. He wouldn't go there, surely not?

    Hail hail!

Meanwhile, back in the real world...

Not a chance. As much as would love FF at Celtic, he is not coming here to sit on the bench at this point in his career - or anywhere else in Scotland, and seriously, you think he'd go to Ipox? What are you smoking? Can I have some? :celtman2:

Since his last spell with us, FF has fought his way back to being first choice for Southampton, and is back in the England squad. If he has designs on departing St Mary's, it will be with the intent on playing every game at some EPL club, not least of which with an eye on England's World Cup squad later this year, and possibly winning the Number #1 shirt.

Away back to the Playstation, FM or whatever you're playing. lol. Sorry mate. :celtman2:

He had his chance to re-sign and he knocked it back, we moved on.

Also he's not fitted to Ange's sweeper keeper, playing it out from the back style. His kicking is his worst attribute by a long shot.

Good luck to him but it won't be at Celtic Park

A team like Fulham or Bournemouth would happily sign him or even another Premier league team as second choice on 30k a week. He is still a high end keeper and I wouldn't be surprised if Southampton ended up keeping him.
Huns definitely won't sign him, they can't afford him and I doubt he'd want to go anyway

I was gutted when he didn't return but I never really felt any animosity towards him for it.

He backed himself to become Southampton's number 1 again and achieved that, along with a return to the last few international squads, both of which looked dead and buried (particularly the latter).
