Why not sign him & play Barkas in deep defence, just in front of him.
Then we have one who can stop & hold or punch the ball comfortably however hard or soft or swervy it’* at him & the other can pass it 10 yards to set the fannying about tippy tappy stuff off.

 

Henke was 45k only person since that came close was Rodgers brown was capped at 35k

Papers are inflating figures they added extra 500k to starfept fee they started of saying 15 per cent sell on on edouard are now saying it’s 40 per cent

We need to move on from Fraser, he was amazing for us but realistically he's not going to fit what Ange wants from a keeper, he's a great shot stopper but even worse than Barkas or Bain with his distribution. On top of that, the rare time that Southampton gave him a chance last year he was promptly taken back out of the side because he has the knees of a 50 year old man and it takes him about an hour to dive for a ball.

 

I agree.

Craig Gordon in goal didn't prevent us winning an Invincible Treble in 2016-2017, nor did his * ability with his feet affect our style of play. We were phenomenal that season.

If Forster is available and willing he should be made a priority signing. We'll already be 15 points better off in the league with him in goal.

 

Keeper can pass when not under pressure, other than that I don't expect Xavi style passes around goal splitting strikers nor should any sane manager.

 

What he can improve is his distribution when kicking long though, it was aimless punts before.

 

As long as the defence is doing its job then it shouldnt really matter if he cant play out from the back. The defence should be strong enough that it allows the midfield to help the forwards do their job, not forcing them to be stuck.in their own half

 

Aye we can slate lawwell for a lot, but he's a tight * and lnows what he is going. Everything was to get the most money in to the club and the least spent.
No chance he agreed to a 40% sell on (profit) and spent £9million at the same time.
At best it will be 20%.

But the media haven't s clue and have changed that figure as the years went on, more in hope of us not getting a pay day.

I said the same mate, he wasn’t a high profile proven striker before he came here so it would be mad for us to pay our record transfer fee and a mental sell on.

 

Not a fan of going back for Forster, made that clear.

But I tell you what it would do, knowing his ability, having someone of this standard...the young defenders in Welsh, Murray and hjelde would develop a lot faster with him in goals.
He commands his area better than what we have been used to since he left and he instills confidence. The young guys will get away with mistakes (they happen) and learn quickly from them.

As much as I do think Barkas has it in him to be s good keeper for us, he clearly isn't bringing that level of assurance and command of the box.

So that's something we should consider going forward, that the right keeper can help the youth development.

Quite true. When he came on loan 2 years ago, even guys who weren't at the club in his first stint knew he was solid. He just looked so safe. And this was him after doing nothing for years at Southampton. He had lost none of his skills.

 

Would have him back in a heartbeat, solid keeper and instills confidence in the back line.

I like Hart but still think Forster is a much better shot stopper

 

Watched him today v Man Utd. Pulled of some excellent saves.

 

Hart has far exceeded my expectations tbh

I wish big Forster well but I'm not that bothered about him any more.

The only way I'd ever be interested in him again would be if Hart left us.
