Honestly? You know I was a right back from the age of 5 until 8 and do you know what I was taught in that time and it's still ringing in my ears?

"If you need to pass it back to the keeper do it but do it outside of the goal and make sure you know where the keeper is ok son??"

Exact words, ringing in my ears since 17 years ago, that's how * basic it is.

I can't believe a thread like this comes up after his arguably his best performance in a celtic jersey.... :97:I was thinking the same in the first half but in the second he was world class... Give the guy a chance.

Wish people would get behind the team instead of Comments Like "not Celtic Class" I personally hate this type of comment as we have to play within our means nowadays ..The days of splashing out 6-7 Mill on a player are over

A few weeks ago (I think it was against Inverness) he was shouting at Majstorovic for doing exactly that, passing it outside the goal to his left foot when he looked like he wanted it on his right foot. That time they only gave away a needless corner between them.

Tonight it looked like he was expecting Cha to do that and he didn't, I don't know if Cha was thinking pass it to his right (i.e. better) foot or not but it is something you see players making a point of doing. Maybe they had * coaches when they were kids.

Neither came out of it looking good but I thought Foster came out too far, was off balance and left the goal open.

i also don't buy this "he's still very young" excuse.

he just doesn't look good enough, and he hasn't shown me in any department except from shotstopping that he will be good enough.

I don't get what the big attraction is with Zaluska, someone please enlighten me on how he is a better goalkeeper than Forster? I think everyone has this 'New Holy Goalie' trait decided for Zal when he just isn't at all. I like Zaluska's passion and desire he seems to have for the club but frankly i think Fraser is the better keeper. I certainly feel more comfortable with him between the sticks. In Forster i trust. :50:

He's a decent keeper, and good enough for now.

The problem though lies in our defense, thats what we should be moaning about. The fact a player can earn thousands a week and make the most pathetic mistake that you wouldn't even see in a Sunday league game is ridiculous. It's bread and butter passing, and that alone has potential cost us the chance to advance into the next round.

I don't think anyone rates Zaluska as a new holy goalie, but when we signed himd from Dundee utd he was solid, so why shouldn't he be just as good for us given a proper run in the team?

I think Forster is a good shot stopper, but he's very obviously lacking in other areas, doesn't command the defence and is terrible for coming off his line and dealing with crosses. These are things that will (hopefully) come with experience, but he's only a loan signing so in the long term what good is that to us?

I don't rate Zaluska THAT much higher than Forster, but he's ours so why not give him a decent run of games?

  9. wasn't happy when he was resigned in the summer, and his performances this season have only reaffirmed my thoughts. he doesn't shout, he doesn't command and he doesn't instill confidence in an already shaky defence. i think both he and cha were at fault for the goal, but forster should of taken command and screamed for it to be left or stayed in his goal for the pass. that said he did make some very good saves towards the end.

Wasnt happy when we resigned him, tonight yup he made a massive mistake but made up for it with 3 or 4 world class saves (how many howlers did Boruc get away with)

    BUT

I still stand to what ive always said about Forster - too slow, cant command the area, terrible handling, poor kicker of the ball. This guy isnt the answer i can never see him being a world class goalkeeper, i cant see him holding the Nr1 spot at Celtic for much longer either.

Forster is average and Zaluska is average, the board and backroom staff need to put some time, effort and money into getting a youngish reliable goalkeeper who will hold down the position for a good few years at least.

Very true and to be admired when he could quite easily have said nothing and let Cha be blamed for everything.

“It was a bad mistake from me and I have to learn to shout louder in future."

to be honest mate i dont rate lucas or fraser. but when i saw the performance lucas put in against udinese i felt his performance that night merited a inclusion as i dont feel fraser and his defence have looked really solid so far this season. i would admit however fraser made some good saves last night....but the howler was a real sore one.

How is he getting criticized after that display? Face it, if that had been the holy goalie his detractors would be singing Artur's praises.

As for the OG, the blame should fall squarely at the feet of Cha.

Ah well, I guess the boo boys need someone to blame when Samaras isn't in action. Tragic really.

All GK's make saves, not all of them make silly mistakes regularly. FF has admitted blame for last nights goal, he was badly positioned, didn't shout and then didn't attempt to retrieve the situation. His muteness has been an issue from day one. a GK must be vocal, command his area and direct his defence. There was no need for him to be out as far as he was if he expected a pass back. I'm not absolving Cha as he should not have been passing back between the posts, but FF should have been closer to the six yard line than the eighteen yard line. We need a new GK in January.

hes a donkey , must be brutal when your playing in defence knowing hes behind you, must give the defence no confidence at all

Blame for the OG lies more with Lurch than Cha i'd say, but 2nd half he was terrific. Already had my head in my hands when he saved with his foot from Pitroipa (i think)
