Is there no decent local goalies worth a punt. I used to rate Jamie Langfield. Liked the way he came off the line and commanded his box etc.

If this is true, i'm a little disappointed. Celtic should have done better and i still maintain that Forster cost us the League Cup last season. However, i'll give him another chance this season to prove me wrong. If we don't win the league this year, that's it for Lennon as far as i'm concerned.Holiday over as Hammy likes to say. Time will tell.

I can see forster in on loan and we will have gordon signed on a bosman in january. I didnt rate forster that much but when he pulls on the celtic jersey he has my full backing.

We need to remember we need a goalie who fits our style too like Forster does.

Westwood and Kello although decent goalies arent in the Celtic mould, we need guys who can come off their line and come out well 1 on 1. Kello and Westwood are more defensive styled Keepers who are better in the 6 yard box.

Forster/Gordon and Sandomierski(I know nothing about him but he looks in the Boruc style) are the kind of Keeper we need. Not a Kello/Westwood/Given, even though Given is a top quality Keeper hes still not quite suited to us as I think hed manipulate the defence into sitting deeper and changing the style of our play.

Agreed. Would be paying over the odds for him though as the wee Huns would hardly sell one of there best assets

So is that the end of the goalkeeper saga for us now?
    Thank *.
Let's see if you can be even better this season Fraser. And get those kicks sorted.

From the many countries, and many league's across the world (which I don't have access to) I'd imagine there are many goalkeepers within our budget that could be put on a list for us to break down and choose from?

It has proven to be possibly one of the most important positions to fill, yet we are going into our second season without a contracted goalkeeper.

My thoughts are that unless we win the league and have entry to the CL, then Forster will be on his way again.

As much as we are a fantastically run club off the park, sometimes transfer window time lets us down.

Is there a decent keeper in the youth team who we could maybe bring up? Would be a risk, I know, but everyone seems adament that we simply can't go on with just Zaluska and Cervi, so maybe a youngster is worth a pop? I seem to remember we had something of a keeper crisis in 2004 when Magnus Hedman was injured and big Rab got sent off against Barcelona, we brought in some young guy who put in a decent shift in the second leg against Barca... just a thought...
(I'm really not particularly clued in on the youth team, please don't flame me if what I've just said is basically utter * :50:)

Hope this gets pushed through and if so, welcome back big man. :50: Not ideal with it being a loan signing again but Forster proved last season he can do a job for us. 20+ clean sheets I believe. Few parts of his game need improvement but i'm sure we'll see that.

Can any other actual keepers come on here and agree with me that clean sheets mean SFA? The original Hart/Given point was well made. Hart may well go on to become a great keeper but there was no reason to drop Given who has proved himself over many years. At this point in time Shay is still superior and i'm not saying that cause he's irish but because i know a bit about goalkeeping.

One bad game, doesn't make him a bad goalkeeper.

Forster will prove (once again), that's he's good enough to be our number one.
