That's because such stats are incredibly limited, in truth. Anyone can see McGregor's on another level.

Forster is a top keeper. He is not in a different league to McGregor, and could well become as good. After all, McGregor was worse at that age. That's my last word on it.

If Lenny could buy a keeper worthy of being our number 1 and he could afford him, he would buy him mate. We all know this man.

I would rather Forster on loan for 2 season than buy a keeper in our budget that isnt good enough for us i.e. Zaluska.

    I'm leaving with this..

Forster is a reliable but nothing spectacular, very underwhelmed with this.

Although, I hope he turns out to be a star:50:

I could live with that but the wages thing just makes me think it cant be. It makes you realise just what an amazing signing Artur was and how lucky Rangers are with McGregor. That standard is just out of our league now unless we are very lucky indeed

Then how come Forster concedes one of every 6.8 shots into him and McGregor concedes one of every 7.5 shots into him?

Hardly anything in it. 0.7 of a shot differance.

McGregor is a better in the 6 yard box but Forster is better outside the 6 yard box.

No we are not if we have clause to buy him included.

As I said, the reason why Celtic would go for a loan deal now is that the paperwork can be processed in time for the Europa League deadline. A permanent deal couldnt be processed in time at this stage.

If Forster proves him, we will look to sign him permanently. We can still be on the look out for a better option, something we wouldnt be doing if we signed any keeper on a permanent deal unless they were total muck and it becomes a case of more deadwood on the wage bill.

I agree that another loan deal is shocking, our no.1 keeper should be on a permanent contract. But i'm just happy we've got a keeper in, and i'm pleased that it's Forster because i like him.

Lenny is probably doing the best he can to get a keeper signed up, and if he could get one that he thinks is good enough then we would have one. But overall i'm happy with Forster, but I wouldve prefered if it was a permanent deal, because now this means in 1 years time we'll be doing this all over again trying to get a keeper.

Correct - Yet more penny pinching from our board....Are we just going to keep on signing loan keepers from now on. He showed last season he`s a big plank a wid who`s SLOW and for someone who`s 6'7" tall he cant * jump. Anyone care to remember the league cup final (Jelavic`s) goal. * the Titanic went down quicker than him at the near post. this SMACKS of a panic loan as per * usual with us its at the last minute.

    I don't think McGregor is *:84:

Forster is already a good YOUNG keeper. If he doesn't develop, at least slightly, then that will be Celtic's fault because that's what clubs are supposed to do with young players and as a young 'keeper he has plenty of time to get a lot better.

Very few 'keepers are great at his age but his overall performances last season were good. He has the stats to back this up [not always the best way to judge anything] but Improve he most certainly can.

The fact is, he's here now. Good luck to him

    Welcome back big man :50:

So we keep on getting guys in on loan? Someone isn't doing their job at Celtic Park if we cannot get a goalkeeper signed.

I fear it is the board again. They failed Mowbray when he was desperate for a centre back, yet were able to fund a move for Keane. They failed Lennon when he was desperate for a centre back, and they are doing it all over again with a second loan signing for a goalkeeper.

    Absolutely shocking.

A clause means very little unless you carry it through. We are famous for letting loan deals go home.

Then it is poor on our part for not getting someone in sooner.

Good scouting, and plenty of time, which we had in abundance, should have had it sorted before now.

Its not ideal and its a joke we cant fund £3.5 million and £40k a week for an outstanding goalkeepr like Shay Given but its the sad state of affairs that we are in at the moment. So we have to do the best we can with what looks to be available. I personally think that if there is a deal for Forster that it'll be a permanent one but we shall see when its confirmed.

In a ideal and realistic world, who would you want mate?
