think he's average at the moment. probably our weakest area of our team imo. what do you do with that? you improve it. he isn't currently costing us games, no. however, i think he would cost us games in Europe. you think he's Celtic class? because i don't.

    as you would put it...:bbpd:

some people want westwood, but maybe it is worth considering not breaking up a decent unit with forster in it. Though nothing is decided yet- not his future nor the remaining honours to be played for this season- plenty time for things to go one way or another.

£2M is a fair offer for Forster, and it is good we are testing the water with Newcastle. I would pay up to £3M for Forster if pushed because he is worthy of it IMO. 15 shuts outs, and contrary to what many observers felt on Sunday, I thought Forster was brilliant and kept us in the game during normal time and extra time. If Forster hadn't been playing against Rangers I think our defeat would have been heavier. I don't blame him at all for the two freak goals that Rangers scored. They could have and should have been stopped by defenders before they even got to see the whites of Forster's eyes. Good goalkeepers like Fraser Forster are very thin on the ground, and bringing a new goalkeeper in next year, would entail all kinds of adjustments having to be made to get used to a new goalkeeper's ways and nuances. That could cost us dearly.

its unreal how slow forster is at going down for a ball - Davis' shot on sunday was really tame and was from 25 yards yet forster still couldn't save it. Wouldn't pay more than 400k for him.

    * that then, cant remember him from the huns game.no surprise there :56:

£4m is far too much for forster.one thing i do like about him is how quick he gets out to clear if it gets by the defenders but hes not commanding, although that has improved and obviously he looked slow as a week in a cell going down for davids goal.
if we could get him for £2m then maybe he is worth it.and also get westwood in for free then we have competition which usually brings the best out of them

i would pay 2m for him no prob;lem! i think he has done a fine job to date with us and has pulled off some kick * saves also! however? i keep hearing good things about westwood so wouldnt be surprised if the board go for him instead of spending the 2m .

He's not slow getting down to the ball. And Davis' shot wasn't from 25 yards. I hate it when people jump on the bandwagon, "Oh he's Newcastle's third choice so he's *," or "He's 6 foot 7 so he can't get down to the ball." Did you see his save against St. Johnstone in the Cup? Or his 15 clean sheets.

Newcastle fans want him back as there number 1 they rate him as one of the best English keepers and want him to stay .

The lad has his faults but so do all keepers young and learning all the time been excellent here for me 2million is a steal and we will struggle to find a better keeper sign him up Lennon.

I didn't watch any replays of the huns goals at the time but have seen them since.. I also feel that from the position he was standing in that he probably should have saved it.
At first I thought he'd pulled his arm out the way because he thought it was going wide , then I thought it bounced over his outstretched arm but the reality is he's standing on the correct side like he's anticipating where it's going but he just couldn't get to it , or he reacted too late..

Would rather Westwood. I would value Forester closer 1.5million.

I wish Forster could be as confident as he was in the 3-0 v Rangers, he dominated everything that day and the communication between him and Maj was spot-on. No blips at all. They shield the ball, he comes for it.

Westwood, would mean breaking up the current unit. Not seen much of him. We'll see

2m seems fair on the condition that during the off season he will moonlight as a 'Jaws' lookalike at James Bond conventions :icon_mrgreen:

i think hed be a great signing on a permenant deal. weve got to remember that he is still young. most goalkeepers peak when they are about 30 so he can only improve. i think he is a commanding keeper who is more than capable of being our 1st choice
