I would do everything in our power to sign him, he's calm at the back, good in the air, good shot stopper and quick of his line.

He's only 22; massive future ahead of him.

He's done absolutely fine! Jeez why do people have to put a negative slant on things when we look like we're on the up and up :97:

I also think he is just as good at shot stopping & his comanding the area is better than boruc but artur was better at kick outs

The big man is what I call a Steady Eddy. He's no Boruc at his best and he's no Boruc at his worst but he'll give you seven out of ten week after week. I always think that good shot stoppers are ten a penny - you'll pick one up wherever you go but it's pretty rare that you'll find a decent/good shot stopper (which is all he is to be honest) that will comand the box and take the pressure off his defence. Now - some may say that at 6'7'' he should be coming for everything but what the defence do know is that if they don't here the big man shout - clear it, if they do - get out the * way cos he's winning the ball.

Food for thought - regarding the coming for a cross thing - I know loads of people that would love Shay Given on board and I can't deny the guy is a phenomanal shot stopper - but look back at the amount of goals he's conceded over the years from headers inside the six yard box when he's stayed on his line. If you disagree - fine - but look into it first you may be surprised.

I would love us to sign him, he's a solid keeper and could be with us for 15 years.

£3million would be a good deal as if he played well in Europe for us then English teams would be wanting him and we could double our money. Dont know if Newcastle would sell though.

Apart from that bad kick against the huns he's not done a single thing wrong and has made about a dozen top drawer saves.

Remember butterfingers Zaluska? he was a calamity, every freekick looked a cert goal into him.

    Some people are never satisfied...
Okay, so his kicking isn't great. Every other aspect of his game is sound. And trust me, it'll be like that mis-kick against the scum didn't even matter as far as we're concerned come the end of the season :celt_2:

TBH I have been hoping we would sign a better keeper, for some time, as I do think there are areas of his game which need worked on and our team is not the place for 'learning on the job'

Having said that, there's no doubt that he's improving and the defence has helped enormously and has actually allowed him to learn while he plays.

Tonight is defo not the time to criticise any player - even though it may be easy to have a pop at Murphy at any given time :icon_mrgreen:

Tonight is the time to sit back and enjoy what happened and to praise each & every player. Tonight we defended as a team, we played as a team and we won as a team.

    Go on the Hoops!

    Hail Hail

Look, the guys agreed to disagree, it's his opinion which we should respect although I don't agree with it either. I'm hardly old but remember when I was a wee boy going to the games with my dad and Agathe, Petrov, Hartson, Valgaeren and sometimes Lennon used to get dogs abuse from the fans. Unbelivable when you think about it but its the same with every team. The fans gave these players pelters and now they are reknowned as great players. Same with McGeady, McDonald, Vennegoor of Hesselink. And probably the same with Samaras. Bottom line is, we are never happy :bbpd:
