He's still only 23, would you wind your neck in. His value is at its lowest right now too, it makes no sense to sell him now.

midfield is a bit bloated now,

need to clear out Derk, Rogic, Tonev, Mcgeouch, Wakaso

    Loan out Henderson, McGregor

    that leaves us with

Brown Bitton Mulgrew - Holding Midfielders

GMS, Stokes, Commons, Johanson, Armstrong, Forrest - Attacking Midfielders

If Forrest cannot show between now and the end of the season he can actually stay fit i would get rid

that would then leave us in a pretty strong position considering that johanson and probably even armstrong can sit in next to brown if needed

He's missing that as well, just like technical ability and end product

His value will only fall further. Punt and cash asap.

I like Forrest, hope he makes it. Does he have a problem with his shoulders/back though? His posture is not very good

this , he does this constantly . Runs along the 18 yard line skipping by defenders like arjen robben, and then just lofts the ball harmlessly over the bar . he cant strike a ball properly , been the same since day 1 . His feet must be like pitching wedges .

Cant help but think this is a little unfair.
Remember he scored a peach at easter road coming in from the right and scoring with the outside of his right peg

You'll see James respond to the new competition.

When fit and in full flow he's a nightmare to play against.

Not giving up hope on James he's only 23.

I think people forget how good a player he is because he's been injured a lot,a fit on form James Forrest would be one of our best players imo

Only thing wrong with him for me is he's injured all the time. Guy above saying "injured a lot", he's really injured more than a lot, Matthews and Lustig get injured a lot, Forrest has been almost permanantly injured for about 2 and a half years, he just never plays 4/5 games in a row, recently he's probably not even played 3 games in a row.

He's not been injured in a while, he's just being eased back into the team to avoid another injury.

Basically the same thing, that scared of him getting more injuries we're barely playing him.

if he was our best player whenever he played then where were the bids for him from down south ? Mcgeady, Wanyama , Hooper , Ledley , Forster , (soon to be VVD) have all moved to england for big money , if Forrest has been as good as you think he has then the same thing would have happened to him .

Most League games he's started in a row this season is 3, last season it was 4 and the season before it was 5. Thats despite him really being a first choice player when fully available.

He's not had a good injury free run in the side since August 2011-January 2012, 3 year. Back then he started 18 out of 20 League games in a row, playing 90 minutes in almost all of them and making a sub appearance in one so playing 19 out of 20 League games.

Seems hilarious to think of him starting 18 of the next 20 League games now as you know for certain he'll end up missing atleast half of them with either injury or injury related resting.

Might seem harsh. But I'd punt. More injury prone the derk !
Was a huge fan when he broke through years ago. Remember thinking every time he got the ball something good was happen. Don't think he'll ever get back to where he once was

Useless player when trying to break down tight units but when a game opens up with a team chasing, he is untouchable and we have no other like him.

Add to the fact he's Scottish and trained with us since * knows when, he ticks a lot of boxes. 23 y/o. Going nowhere!

Yes he's had his tights ripped too often but thats the price you pay for a player with short sharp bursts of pace and getting chopped down coz ye tare fullbacks tae shreds.

I'd like to think more can be done to manage him physically. Suggestions his running style may be an issue that needs ironed out, plenty of time to coach him.

If he's still no gotten far by his 25th b/day fair enough.

Totally agree....he's a excellent player, the problem is most of the time he's either injured or trying to regain form after being injured. That doesn't make him a poor player, that makes him injury prone, there is a difference. There was a spell where he was fit and on form and defences couldn't handle him, if he can get back to that then he will be one of our most dangerous players.
