For sure there are similarities. Both about the same height. Both of them play best coming in at speed from the wing, both know where the back of the net is.

The most striking similarity is their body shape on the ball - there's a kind of Amphetamine Tadpole look to Bellamy, which JF partly shares.

JF is a lot better at golf tho. :50:

My dad said the exact same thing when he watched him pre seaon and i agreed after watching him play against inverness. Would be great if we grew our own wee bellers lol

This bhoy will be a star, mark my words the only fear I have is that guys with great pace tend to get a lot of hamstring probs bellamy, gerrard when younger had this, so I just hope he takes time to develope before getting forced into the first team

I wouldn't say he has the same stature.

Bellamy is 31 and has done loads in his career and built a proven reputation as one of the premier leagues better players.

    Just cant get enough
He looks a bit like Bellamy but, for the moment, that's where the comparison ends.
Looks like a real talent but he's got a long way to go before he can be compared to Bellamy- a world class player imo.

i think we should maybe make comparisons with other players when he has played a good few games. i dont get why we always build up our players so much for a fall

It is more a comparison of attributes they have that are similar than "Is Forrest as good as Bellamy?"

No comparison, don't see why there needs to be either.

Honestly can't, don't think there would be anyway if we were't linked with Bellamy either.

They both have pace and go for the byline but so did Agathe and he's nothing like Bellamy either.

I was meaning the way they're about the same height, and their shoulders seem to hang aff their chins, and they have the same bodyshape when they run?

They're both wee and fast. Is that really worth pointing out?

I think young Forrest has a style akin to Bellamy but Bellamy is far more a finished article. We will see how James copes when teams get wise to his game and double up on him etc. If he can overcome that then we might be talking about a player of Bellamy's class

Ah ok, in that case aye they're comparable :56:

I think Jamesy bhoy needs to broaden his shoulders tbh, he's a hardy wee guy but the ability to hold off opponents in modern football is invaluable. The best players in the world like the Messi's and Ronaldo's can all shield the ball superbly.

Not only do I not see the comparison, but think people should calm down with this wee guy. He's got some talent for sure and is an exciting prospect. Can't wait to see him a few years down the line facing up against Champions League opponents.

    But,

We are putting to much expectation on him. Don't think even for a second that all this talk is not being shared by other folks and that he is not aware of it. Breed to much confidence you loose the player. Too much expectation can loose the player. Surely he should be allowed to just play his game for at least half a season before people compare him to other stars, or start saying he's worth 10 mil, or that he's better than McGeady or any other over hyped bullshit.

Give him his chance without the pressure or over the top reactions.

I am not saying don't get excited. Just hold back on the player comparisons or estimated valuations. How many times you went to an over hyped movie and found it lacking from your expectations?
