This is they key thing in all of is. There is no punishment that will give justice to the victims. It's so vile.

It's disappointing to hear our club related to this again as we'll hear no end of it from the scum who think it's something to point score with. It is well known paedophiles are good at covering their tracks, silencing their victims somehow. I think that it is believable a lot of clubs did not know about it and when they heard rumours they did not believe it because the person seemed so normal and got on well with the lads. I'm not trying to excuse clubs, I'm just trying to understand how it was so widespread and nothing was done.

However, something the huns or anyone else must remember before getting any schadenfreude out of this is that the overwhelming perpetrators of child abuse are relatives of the victims. It's a terrible irony that they will be affected by paedophilia just as much as anyone else in society.

The sad thing is that where you have human beings, you will have abuse, evil individuals who will go to extreme lengths to engineer situations where they can be alone with children. Whether it be sport, politics, religion, every day life, the scale of abuse is truly disturbing, regardless of what happens to the perpatrators, the victims are left with a life sentence.

Point scoring over child abuse is abhorrent behaviour. Bar a minor exception, you haven't seen our fans desperate to point score over their club's involvement with this sort of thing. It's * disgusting.

It's probably happened at near every club in the UK, as its not like they would have just had one job at a club then that was it, if theres been 100+ coaches or whatever involved they've probably worked for near all the clubs combined.

I was actually talking to a boy in Manchester when down at the game who said his dad was at Chelsea at the time of their paedo coach and his dad said all the boys kind of knew something was up as he used to bath with the team after training and games and there would always be the same 4/5 boys who would stay back longer after others had left and he had always felt weird around him and the other players did.

At least it's all coming out now, mad that its all stuff that happened 20+ year ago and only coming out now, it's probably a good sign that things have improved in recent times as nothing has come out thats been going on now has it? Wonder if anything will come out about stuff happening now.

I have to say mate, i have no doubt in my mind, that if the roles were reversed, some of our fans would do exactly the same thing as those scummy * who perpetuate the myth about Jock Stein.

If this was them and the name up for ridicule was some Rangers stalwart/legend.....things wouldnt be any different but in reverse.

Morons are everywhere, and no club or town is immune.

I don't think it would be anywhere as bad mate, Reason I say this is because there is rumours about gough but other than the occasional wee *, spewing his accusations, you rarely hear about it. I think we would view it as, like the Ibrox disaster, not something to point score or celebrate ,even though am sure we all know if Ibrox had happened to us they would still be singing/celebrating it.

Definitely. The moral high ground some of our fans take needs to stop. Plenty sing about the Ibrox Disaster, for * sake. And is it true that some fans were singing about the IRA in a Manchester pub that had been blown up by an IRA bomb? Completely unacceptable, if true.

I think the only thing that would perhaps mean Celtic fans wouldn't revel in child-abuse (as much) if the roles were reversed would be our Catholic identity and the sensitivity of child abuse allegations in the Church.

Yea some of the singing in Manchester was pretty dumb but ,unlike 'them', we can say it's a minority nowadays and it is.

    It's beyond scary.

We've had the celebrity * scandal in the last few years, now it's football's turn.

It just highlights how widespread abuse was.

Im actually not surprised that this has all come to a head. I mean any paedophile is naturally going to look into working with kids, or young teens....and when you think how many paedos there are...(3-5% of the population according to wiki)its almost as though we as a society have been burying our collective heads in the sand over the decades when it comes to abuse.

I was in the BB, and the Scouts and a couple of boys football clubs, and was fortunate to have never heard anything untoward about any of the guys who had charge over me.....but this whole scandal must have a lot of these old guys (innocent and guilty)absolutely bricking themselves about any potential forthcoming allegations.

People are people, scum are scum. There is an element in every support that go beyond.

I wont guess at the percentage, but a silly high percentage of our fans have no choice as to which team they support...from birth, and it is a similar number for them...so unless you are saying it is genetic.....!!!
