Some of the stuff you see in Poland with Polish ultras is unreal.People over here get so worked up over nothing. The fact one or two flares or smoke bombs make headline news says it all really.

This works in Norway, don't see why it can't be done in Scotland

There * there's nothing good about them theres always loads set off beside me when I'm in the hill and everyone does be choking and you can hardly see the game as it is there's nothing positive about them they don't make Celtic park more feared or gives us a better atmosphere the 60,000 singing there hearts out give us that not a bunch of smoke bombs that nobody over 12 should use

I suppose that's why their not so effective or popular over here because you just end up * off your fans.where as abroad everyone loves them.

Ok, I'm not 100% sure about this, but wasn't there a uniform ban on flares after a fan was killed at a Welsh international match when some dumbass brought a search and rescue flair from a boat into the ground and proceeded to 'shoot' the fans in the opposite stand by accident? It was years back, but I remember watching the game on the tv.

That's the real problem here. When you allow the uncontrolled and unregulated use of flammable, potentially explosive, devices in a crowded area you are at the whim of the gods to the degree of tge least reliable supporter/suppliers for the safety of those around. Bad supplier - flare explodes. Bad fan - someone hit with a flare. Bad health issues - some innocent * suffers for someone else's fun. The variables are just too great to allow it.

I love seeing flares in a ground, but not enough to justify their presence. Like saying I think lions are awesome, but I don't want to jump into a cage alongside one...

I recognise some of that pyro,I have the same stuff, must use same supplier :smiley-laughing002::smiley-laughing002: The guy makes a good point about the football being * and need to make it more fun for supporters to come, pretty much like Scotland.First they could do with lowering ticket prices and bringing back the booze.:50:

Agreed. It won't be done because you get the bedwetters who are scared of change.

You only need to look at the buck passing between GCC and the Scottish Government over the safe standing trial at CP.

    "Embarrassment " "damaged the club"

:56: I'd say the lack of European football and our because of our penny pinching transfer policy has embarrassed and damaged the club more than letting off a flare.

    * bingo. Dont forget our chairman calling our fans racists and keeping his job. The wording of the PLC statement rubbed me the wrong way, those young boys spend a fortune traveling all over Scotland to support us, and beyond the money if their time is as valuable as mine, they are investing a significant amount of their own time following us around. The language of that statement was a disgrace, probably dictated to by a tory non supporter.

As much as I think flares should be knocked on the head, all this * about "tarnishing the clubs good name" and "destroying the reputation the supporters have built up" is a load of bollocks.

Fair enough we get fined for using them in europe and for that reason I think we should bin them, but it isn't destroying any reputation.
