When flares are lit en masse like at the Buenos Aires clubs it does look quite impressive and imposing (that's no concession to the people who's health is affected by them right enough) but when it's just one or two lit like Thursday or like Zagreb they look * and add nothing to the atmosphere and enjoyment of the game.

Onto your 4th point, it is our place as Celtic supporters to comment on things that affect our club as a whole. Indviduals who travel to support our club and act as ambassadors of Celtic are costing us money and potentially leading us toward a travel ban or worse still a home game behind closed doors.

    Aye.

Why should the club and by extension the rest of the support pay for the actions of a few individuals?

I don't see the point in continually fining us, its not a deterrent for fans and will never stop it.

Yes, but it's not your place to try to impose your will without taking the other point of view seriously (e.g. calling them idiots). It's your place as a Celtic fan to participate in the discussion, but not to get up on your high horse.

No, I dont think theyd need it but would be smart of them to have them. Wouldnt want them to die when something so simple would have saved thier lives :56:

Well some of these supporters (who know more than either of us about their own health problems) have expressed concern. That's enough for me TBH and suggesting they wear a "wee paper mask" is a bit patronising, mate.

If their problems were that serious they'd no be going to football games, especially ones like that one there, where * are jammed in like sardines trying to get out the stadium and ushered onto packed metro/buses.

Theres probably fans who go to games who have ear problems and dont like loud noise, should people stay quiet or should they be prepared with wee earplugs. Theres people who will have sensitive skin, should everyone be made to walk 2 yards behind and no touch each other and ban the huddle.

I dont think its a big deal at all.

So now you're admitting that it is in fact a severe immediate threat to their health. Morons lighting them.

So you're unhappy about paying the costs associated with a Celtic fan (who may or may not be a "moronic wee *") using pyro, but are quite happy to pay the costs of official Celtic pyrotechnic displays for a trophy presentation?

Why? If it's your money that bothers you, what's the difference.

Could it not be that in fact it isn't the cost at all that bothers you?

There's a difference between not liking loud noises and having asthma or severe lung problems which can be triggered by flares.

Look at those disgraceful scenes, hope the utlras, neds and casuals who got on the park to set off those pyrotechnics were caught, banned and jailed and wouldnt be against a stadium ban to make sure it never happens again.

But I haven't seen any Celtic fans complaining about noise levels or physical contact; I have seen fans (and fan groups) complaining about the health effects of flares. That's the (massive) difference.

You know me, mate: I couldn't give a * what UEFA or the MSM think of flares. We're talking about concerns raised by Celtic fans here.

Was looking for those to make my point earlier. That must have cost money. I wonder if Tim-Time et al wrote to Lawwell about how he was "wasting" their money.

I took those pictures, think thats the 2nd time i've used them when this flare subject has been brought up, if flares are to be banned or made out to be anything serious then they'd also have to ban the use of the same stuff on the park.

Hate them, think theyre pointless add nothing to the game. At the end of that day if they keep hurting the club the fans profess to love then don't do it.
