Dismayed at the media reports tonight showing fans flaunting the recent reminder to not use flares at games.
Without delving into the semantics of an argument about the pros & cons of them, the very fact Celtic have received several fines in relation to some supporters setting off fireworks & flares in recent years, should surely mean this behaviour stops immediately?
Discuss Flares and their continued use in the Celtic Chat area at TalkCeltic.net.

Really * off with the way this has all been reported, do people still not realise that we weren't fined for flares in Zagreb?
-
If you go into the BBC Footie page, you can clearly see the guy holding an Ultra banner, being which is the flare and the folks around taking photos. If it's a choice of what's more important, Celtic or a guy who's involved in something that's getting us fined, then for me it's Club first.
I just wonder if he had to pay the possible fine, he would be so eager to get himself noted. -

Closed doors is the only thing that could ever make these people cop on.

I don't see the need for flares at football, pointless in my opinion.

I was too busy enjoying myself so didn't notice.
Some people have too much time on their hands. -

I switched over to watch the Roma game just after ours. First thing I seen, flares being set off. It's really an over reported issue that I don't understand. It's not like they're constantly going off during games. It's the occasional flare going off that generates a bit of excitement, usually before games. Fair enough if they were getting in the way of the game but it's almost always a non issue.
If they were always getting chucked on to the pitch I could see the issue but it's really just making a problem out of nothing right now. -

Closed doors because of flares. * European football would be shut down if that was the case.

Nae bother.
Aw worth it for that 20 sec buzz eh....:bbpd: -
I'm not a fan of them but i wouldnt pontificate to any man who spends his hard earned cash on expensive away trips on letting them off.
It is an interesting point that the fella above made about us not being fined for the flares. The only reference to the fine and flairs came from the official website so the fine may have been for interacting with the heavy handed police.
This sort of makes sense because flairs a far more common in foreign football and i often wondered why such a fuss was made for us.
There was one loop the loop in the other thread who called on people who set of flares in away matches to be banned from parkhead for life. -
