If we get a midfielder in we'll go bust.

Surely we haven't just picked £30M and aren't going to spend a penny of it on the weakest part of our team?

It's not just the 10-12 million though is it? A 6 million pound player is obvs going to attract interest from down south who will be able to offer them a good wage.

Unless we are buying 18 year olds the 6 million pound player is going to want a 25k-50k a week salary and a 3-5 year deal meaning an extra 3-6 million every year for your two players. Or 20m+ over the course of their contracts.

What do we do when we get put out in the 3rd round qualifier and fail to make Europa league? easily done with a few poor refereeing decisions or our co-efficient drops and we become seeded.

Obviously I want the best players to be playing for Celtic but I think we all need to remember the market that we operate in and where we play our football domestically.

See to be honest Blinkeredtoe, if you think Brown, Bitton and McGregor can only be replaced by £6m+ players, you're a bit of a fruit-loop tbh.

Stop spouting you're financial analysis pish and buy an atlas, * sake.

    * it's not me claiming we need 6m pound players, I'm more than happy for us to buy sensibly in Europe.

You said we can only buy 18 year olds, as if they are 19+ they cost £5/£6m. I'm just reading you're post as you type it.

We haven't signed anyone at that value this season, so I guess we need to evaluate our signings then, guessing they are going to be * then in the long run?

Aye we can spend that amount, do we need to, maybe not. But ffs, the midfield in the centre is total * and for our messiah not to spot it is worrying to say the least.

Nah I think you're picking me up totally wrong mate. My point in that post was that the expensive youngsters don't need massive salaries.

Never once said our current signings arnt going to be good, we have bought very well so far and have improved the team.

My OP was that everyone is going mental about how little we have spent thinking we just have 30 million sitting in an account that the board are stealing or something when in actually fact we arnt that much richer than we were at this stage last year.

Absolutely shocking investment into the team after reaching the champions league with let's face it an embarrassing performance in Israel. The board continue to mug the fans off by not investing and pocketing the money. Only watching on TV for now I refuse to give the club anymore money until it changes.

Anyone thinking that spending a bit of money on some quality players will make this club go bust illustrates the financial skills they lack and further that the acumen for people to see that re investing in making the team, the brand the company more valuable, is a long term investment. The board however can spend money on safe standing to squeeze more people in and squeeze more money out of us

I've seen some great posts, but not much will top the 'We haven't actually got the money yet, so we cannae spend it' that are popping up on here.

Speculation to be completely honest mate, I'm sure I remember seeing that 52k was the max we can sell?
Up from I think 45-46 last season. Even at 10k more tickets it's still around 3-4 million more (much less than many of us would have thought).

Just annoying me seeing so many people slating the club for not giving the manager 30m to spend when we obviously don't even have it and the transfer window hasn't even been that bad.

Obviously we need a CM and it would have been nice to get one in but * it.

People are having a laugh with this we will spend next window and be prepared for the champions league wake up and smell the coffee. They've not spent now so why would they spend then. Changes are need at the club, I for one am completely sick and tired with the lack of vision from the board. I feel sick to my stomach to think the club has brought in about 50/60 million and they've given the fans what.

Not fussed at all. Happy with all our business in and those out. Still want Ambrose, Boyata, Janko, Armstrong, Henderson and Cifti out, but all in good time. Need a CM in but it can wait until January.

Why wait until after the Champions League to get the player we need most?

It'll turn into "January isn't the best time for transfer dealings",

Then rinse and repeat next summer.
