Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl

Haven't seen it in about 10 years. Much better than I expected it to be on second viewing. Really enjoyed it.

    The Accountant. 8/10.

A * ending but overall a better retarded version of the John Wick movies.

Watched it the other night for the first time, thought it was brilliant.

My Mrs is into the films so thought I'd give it a bash and can't wait to see the rest now.

Godzilla was a far better film than Skull Island. John C. Reilly was the only good thing about Skull Island.

I was already going to avoid Skull Island but this has put me off more. Thought Godzilla was average as *.

Godzilla, Jurassic World and Skull Island. Just no need for them to even be made in the first place. Well, other than the studios getting greedy.

I think there's potential. It's like the new Universal Monster's movies, they're just going around building them completely the wrong way. The Universal Monsterverse should be low budget horrors like The Conjuring, Don't Breathe etc. With iconic characters. Trying to make them into almost like Superhero blockbusters is idiotic. Same with recent Kaiju movies movies. They need to make the big monsters scary/threatening/terrifying instead of trying to make them look cool.

I liked Godzilla but I think it was a bit boring and a drag at times. But honestly Jurassic World and Skull Island are * dreadful movies. When you have people like Chris Pratt and Tom Hiddleston as the leads in these types of movies there's really no chance of it being an interesting movie.

    Exactly.

The should be trying to get guys like James Wan, Fede Alvarez and David Robert Mitchell to direct the likes of Dracula and Frankenstein. That would be very exciting. Those characters could actually be doing with an updated, properly scary film.

Aye it's kind of mental how big they've * up.

You could literally remake Don't Breathe and just make the blind guy Frankenstein's monster and the kids that broke into his house people that were working on him. Wan's Conjuring is slowly building its own universe with The Annabelle movies and The Crooked Man getting their own spinoffs. The new Annabelle is supposedly to be outstanding. Same guy that made Lights Out.

I didn't even like horror films until a few years ago, but the amount of great low budget ones getting made are amazing recently.

To be fair, the only horror film I've really enjoyed the past few years is It Follows.

I think The Conjuring (only seen the first one) and Insidious are extremely overrated and average films. Haven't seen Don't Breathe, Lights Out or Annabelle (which was panned).

I'm actually shocked that they are making these Conjuring spin-offs.

The second Annabelle is getting incredible reviews.

Don't Breathe us amazing imo. Probably my favourite horror movie.

    Assassin's Creed

I saw it on a plane so I wasn't perhaps as invested as I normally would be, therefore I feel like I missed some of the things it's being slagged for....but I enjoyed it.

I'm a huge fan of the AC series so that probably clouds my judgement. In saying that, the action sequences were top notch, the setting was quite cool, and at least there was some sort of plot to it. Nowhere near as bad as I expected it to be.

There were a few issues but nothing to make me dislike it. Only thing is there should have been less modern day scenes and more historic scenes.
